Staying at an Airbnb can be a wonderful experience for travelers on a budget looking for unique lodgings outside of standard cookie-cutter hotel rooms.

But because booking an Airbnb is a sight-unseen process, potential lodgers trusting the 5-star reviews can pose a risk.

One TikToker was mortified and felt "betrayed" when she discovered upon arrival that the bed and breakfast she booked was a cluttered nightmare.

"Airbnb has betrayed my trust," wrote Phoenicopterus Ruber, a.k.a. @phoenruber on the popular video-sharing app.

In the clip, she shared the photos that are shown on the listing, but the images are in stark contrast to the aesthetics of the actual location.

She showed viewers the first floor, which was cluttered with an assortment of knick-knacks, stacks of packing boxes, and extra furniture.

Ruber said she was, "staying here 10 weeks."

She also indicated the AC and shower were broken.

TikTokers suggested Ruber immediately find another lodging.

The so-called bed and breakfast was definitely not what the listing promised and – according to the comments – could be categorized as a hoarder situation.

According to the Anxiety & Depression Association of America website, hoarding is:

"The persistent difficulty discarding or parting with possessions, regardless of their actual value."
"The behavior usually has deleterious effects—emotional, physical, social, financial, and even legal—for a hoarder and family members."

Viewers were convinced the accommodation qualified as a hoarder scenario.

After her video gained so much attention, Ruber worked up the strength to stand up for herself and get a hotel room to stay in.

In a follow-up video, Ruber said she "escaped from the hoarder's house."

When asked what she told the owner on her way out, Ruber said she "hightailed it out of there," and did not have to explain the reason for leaving.

According to the Daily Dot, Ruber has not yet received a refund or heard back from Airbnb despite many attempts to communicate with them.
