The comedian told Stephen Colbert how her Pride month got off to an awkward start after her nearly-8-year-old sons didn't realize their moms are gay.

Tig Notaro revealed her Pride Month got off to a "weird" start after her twin sons were surprised to learn that their two moms are gay.

The comedian sat down on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last week when she made the revelation, telling the the late night host she was "stunned" when her nearly-8-year-old children had no idea.

“Pride month, I’ll be honest, it’s been a little weird."
"My wife and I found out recently that our sons didn’t know we were gay."
"They will be 8 this month.”

Notaro then explained how the conversation came about.

“Their school is six minutes away from our house, and at minute three we were in the front seat of the car talking about something about gay."
“Our son Finn leans forward and says, ‘You’re gay?’”

The Morning Show actor was floored.

“I was so stunned because we’ve lived together almost eight years, and I’ve been gay the whole time — even prior!”
“So, I was like ‘Yes! We are.’ I was so shocked.”

Notaro said she then tried explaining "what gay is," but she began to worry her son wouldn't like what she had to say.

“We’re like three minutes now from the school, and I start explaining what gay is. "
"And then while I was explaining it, I started getting insecure, thinking, 'what if he doesn’t like this?'”

But all was more than okay after Notaro asked:

“What do you think about what I just told you?”

And her son, Finn, gave the best response possible:

“Oh, I love my family."

Of course, as soon as Notaro and her wife, Stephanie Allynne, dropped the kids off, they shared their surprise that the twins had no idea.

“We drop them off at school and we’re like, ‘bye!’ and we truly drove off going like half-a-mile-an-hour, like ‘How on earth do our kids not know we’re gay?’ Because, dare I say, we’re also an iconic gay couple."
“I realized that even though there’s pictures of our wedding day and they know they have two moms, that doesn’t mean they know what gay is."

Stephen Colbert Makes Somber Plea To Americans In Wake Of Charlie Kirk's Death

Late-night host Stephen Colbert had a somber message for Americans as he addressed the assassination of far-right activist Charlie Kirk, stressing that "political violence only leads to more political violence."

Kirk died after an unidentified gunman shot him in the neck as he—ironically enough—mocked victims of gun violence at an event in Utah Valley State University. Kirk's murder has galvanized the far-right, with President Donald Trump and his surrogates claiming without evidence that rhetoric from Democrats is responsible for Kirk's death.

TikToker Hilariously Calls Out Target After Champion Pants Feature Awkwardly-Placed Front Pleat

Sometimes you can just tell when something was designed *for* women, but was not actually designed *by* women.

Take, for instance, the new pleated pants available at Target from the Champion clothing line. While there's nothing wrong with pleated pants and they certainly have a suitable spot in the workplace, the latest rendition of Champion pleated pants are, shall we say, NSFW.

Woman Goes Viral After Revealing How Her Obsession With Matcha Landed Her In The Hospital

Let's be honest: Too much of anything isn't good for us. It's all about the balance!

But the media and social media trends have taught us that certain things are really good for us, encouraging us to be like the "very mindful and very demure" girls and take care of ourselves. One such example is drinking more matcha, especially if you really like coffee or think you have a caffeine addiction.
