A New 'Sims 4' Update Accidentally Enabled Incest—And Gamers Are Freaking All The Way Out

The team behind the life simulation game The Sims 4 constantly provides players with both free and pay to play updates. Even though new content and features are exciting, they often can’t help but cause in game glitches along the way.

Players were excited to see developers make the game more inclusive by adding sexuality options for their Sims characters. But it soon became obvious the big update came with some game altering bugs.


The update has accidentally added incest to the game.

Sims have "whims/wants” players can choose to ignore or follow through.

Players noticed their Sims developing wants for romantic interactions with their family members.

Twitter users began sharing their Sim's incestuous desires.



Players also complained of their Sims quickly aging up and dying when playing under certain game settings.



Huffpost reported the developer behind the game, Maxis acknowledged player's complaints.

They also announced a patch would fix the glitches.


But fans of the game, which has been out since 2014, expressed their frustrations with the ongoing issues.


The Sims franchise first started in 2000 with The Sims.

The series and its spin-off games continue to have a loyal fanbase.
