Ryan Reynolds Explains Why He's Hoping His Fourth Child Is A Girl In True Ryan Reynolds Fashion

The 'Spirited' star, who already has three girls with wife Blake Lively, told 'Today' his very valid reasons for wanting to continue the streak.

On Monday, actor Ryan Reynolds appeared on Today to talk about his new musical comedy flick Spirited. Reynolds also opened up about his family, specifically the anticipated arrival of his fourth child with wife Blake Lively.

Reynold's revealed he hopes the child is a girl.


"I know girls, so I'm kind of hoping that [we have one]."

Reynolds and Lively already have three daughters: Betty 3, Inez 6, and James 7.

Reynolds further explained his experience growing up with only brothers solidified his desire for another daughter.

"I love my well-being and, uh, my home."
"I was the youngest of four, and we were just arsonists and firemen."

Reynolds also said in the segment that, although he wants another girl because he "knows girls," he also shared he is "ready for whatever happens."

He also gave a shout out to his daughters at home:

"James, Nezzie and Betty are watching, so hi guys, I love you!"

Spirited will be released in select theaters on November 11 before its Apple TV+ release on November 18.
