Early this year, right wing provocateur and ally to President Donald Trump—Roger Stone—was sentenced to 40 months in prison for lying to federal investigators and witness tampering.
Trump commuted Stone's sentence, allowing him to escape prison time, and now Stone is returning the favor by amplifying Trump's lie that widespread voter fraud tipped the 2020 election to President-elect Joe Biden.
While Trump's weeks-long Twitter screed against the integrity of American democracy has yielded some wild conspiracy theories, even his paled in comparison to the conspiracy put forth by Stone.
Appearing in an interview for infamous conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, Stone said on Wednesday:
"I just learned of absolute incontrovertible evidence of North Korean boats delivering ballots through a harbor in Maine, the state of Maine. If this checks out, if law enforcement looked into that and it turned out to be true, it would be proof of foreign involvement in the election."
As indicated by Stone's description of the so-called evidence as "incontrovertible," immediately followed with the qualification "If this checks out," Stone is lying.
As Trump's own Justice Department and election security commission confirmed, there is no widespread voter fraud in the United States—especially not enough to undo the results of a presidential election.
Stone's latest conspiracy theory had Twitter users guffawing.
I hear that ballots were delivered in huge batches from Mexico in Los Pollos Hermanos chicken truckshttps://t.co/RNMrtZKPml

Every single thing about this is incredibly idiotic but none mores than the idea that North Korea would head to the East Coast. https://t.co/NP66jHJjph

Roger Stone said North Korean vessels delivered ballots through Maine Harbor.
Is there some contest amongst Trumpkins to say the craziest thing possible?
They are all freaking looney tunes!

Need I remind everyone that no North Korean Vessel has enough fuel to make the passage, as they cannot stop anywhere but China to refuel. Also, they don't have access to either the Suez or Panama Canals. So yeah. . . that's not possible, Roger Stone. https://t.co/CeV4eaORU1

The self-serving outright lies and conspiracy theories that the Trump team is peddling are embarrassing not just for them, but for the people who are gullible enough to believe them.
This is worse than McCarthyism.https://t.co/aXBA5eAClO

They roundly roasted the conservative rabblerouser.
I'm picturing Roger Stone in his villain from a comic book outfit sitting on the pier witnessing this.

Roger Stone was rejected as a potential Batman villain, after the Joker and the Penguin judged him too kooky.
