Say "Rihanna." Go ahead, say it out loud!

Now evaluate how you pronounced it.

Probably like "Ree-AH-nah," right?

Well according to Rihanna herself, that's actually not the right way to say her name.

In a video posted to British Vogue's Twitter account, Rihanna identified herself as "Ree-ANN-uh".

Take a listen:

Yikes.

We've been saying it wrong for at LEAST 14 years, considering her first hit single, "Pon De Replay," came out in 2005.

But, to be fair, she did tell HLN's AJ Hammer how to say her name in 2012:

Rihanna shows AJ Hammer how to pronounce her name.www.youtube.com

So really, we have no excuse.

Also, did you know Rihanna moved to London? Because she totally did.

Rihanna also totally tried to tell us again in 2015 how to pronounce her name via Instagram:

So again, she has been really trying to tell us.

We are the worst.

Do you think we will learn this time?

This time, we will hopefully learn from our mistakes.
