In an ironic turn of events, extreme Republican pro-life advocate North Carolina Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson was ridiculed for a resurfaced 2012 Facebook post where he admitted to paying for an abortion.

The post said:

"I'm not saying abortion is wrong cause I said so it's wrong cause GOD says so. It's wrong when others do it and it was wrong when I paid for it to be done to my unborn child in 1989."

He mentioned it several times, stating in a separate post:

"Abortion is wrong."
"It's wrong when others do it and it was wrong when I (YES I) paid to have MY own child aborted in 1989 ..."

Just last year, Robinson appeared at a March for Life rally in Raleigh and addressed a crowd of hundreds protesting abortion. He condemned the medical care he used when he decided his partner needed it, explicitly calling it "murder."

He said:

"We cannot say that 'Black lives matter,' or 'all lives matter,' or 'blue lives matter' until we say 'unborn lives matter,' because that's where we all start."

When asked to comment on the discovery of conservative favorite Robinson's posts, North Carolina GOP spokesperson Jeff Moore refused.

He said:

"As it is a personal matter, NCGOP will not be commenting ... "
"We will defer to Lt. Gov. Robinson."

In a video message Robinson posted on March 24, he addressed his use of healthcare he's fighting to deny others. Sitting beside his wife, whom he said had the abortion he paid for, the Lt. Gov. spoke about the events that took place in 1989.

He said in the video below:

"Over 33 years ago before we were married and before we had kids, we had an abortion."
"It was the hardest decision we have ever made, and sadly we made the wrong one."
"This decision has been with us ever since, and it's because of this experience and our spiritual journey that we are so adamantly pro-life."
"We know what it's like to be in that situation and we know the pain that an abortion causes."

Robinson, who gained conservative popularity for his condemnation of the procedure and unrelenting judgment against people who have performed abortions, for the first time shared a sentiment of sympathy for those who had one.

He said:

"For everyone that has had this experience and carries that burden, we want you to know you are not alone."

Chatter about the hypocrisy was center stage as the posts got more attention.

"Hypocrite party of one your table is ready."

Another person tweeted:

"Party of hypocrisy."

Another posted:

"So you are telling me we have politicians that stand against a woman’s right to an abortion. Who’ve paid for an abortion themself."
"Correct me if I’m wrong North Carolina Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson."

Planned Parenthood South Atlantic, North Carolina branch used the hardline pro-lifer's story to make a statement about the necessity for safe abortion accommodations.

They posted their official statement online.

"Everyone needs access to abortion, even Mark Robinson."

Though he advocates against it, some people are happy for Robinson that he and his wife were able to safely receive the procedure without the frustrations of today.

One person wrote:

"As a pro-choice person, I think it's great that Mark Robinson and the person he impregnated got to exercise a fundamental reproductive right!"
"I wish he wouldn't try to take that same choice away from everybody else!"

Another shared:

"Everyone should have the right to choose what’s best for themselves and their families, including Mark Robinson."
"It’s a shame that, despite his past, he doesn’t feel the same way."

The linchpin of the matter is that safe and legal abortions will help—and have helped—people across the political spectrum, including those who are fighting to eradicate it.

GOP Rep. Ousted From Chairmanship By Trump Calls Out Colleagues For Russian Propaganda In Resurfaced Clip

Speaking to anchor Jake Tapper on CNN last April, Ohio Republican Mike Turner said that Russian propaganda had "infected" the GOP in a clip that has resurfaced after President-elect Donald Trump had him ousted as House Intelligence Committee chair.

At the time, Turner made it clear that his fellow Republicans were parroting Russian propaganda about the war in Ukraine and its relationship with NATO members. That claim came after House Foreign Affairs Committee chair Michael McCaul, who said he thinks "Russian propaganda has made its way into the United States, unfortunately, and it’s infected a good chunk of my party’s base."
