Love can sometimes be inexplicable. It's that feeling, that hard tug in your chest, pulling you towards someone. While a relationship can be solidified over shared interests and common goals, that spark becomes a flame because of the incomputable actions they make. Your heart cries out to you when they do it, so pay attention. You might find the love of your life.

Reddit user, u/nisoli, wanted to hear about the beauty of love when they asked:

People of reddit, what is the most cherished memory with your SO, that still makes you happy to be them?

As Long As You're There

Sick Season 4 GIF by The SimpsonsGiphy

Like two weeks ago my husband had surgery. When he woke up, he smiled at me and said, "I love you. Im glad you're here." It was just so unexpected and adorable. The man was loopy as hell and doesn't remember saying it now, but the first thing out of his mouth was appreciation. There's truth in Valium and I'm never going to not smile thinking about him saying that.

Passing Time Together

Last year, actually to the day, my boyfriend and I went to my best friends wedding in Kentucky. It was the first wedding I'd ever been to and I was so happy to see her find love, and now she has a baby girl! At the wedding, we didn't know anyone but the Bride, so we kind of just sat awkwardly to the side and talked. We are both kind of socially anxious and self conscious, so we didn't dance or anything.

We stayed for a few hours and went back to our hotel room. I asked him if he would slow dance with me, so I turned on some slow music on my phone, but on a low-light, and we slow danced for an hour. It was lovely.

Never Leaving Your Side

I had a seizure and she was by my side, I remember coming to in the hospital and she was still by my side, she looked more afraid than me. Which scared me even more, but she never left me.

Whoever Dealt It, Is It

She farted really loud at a wedding once just as the priest started talking. She calmly turned to the 7/8 yo next to her and whispered loudly "what did you have for breakfast?" Knew I had a keeper then :)

One day after work it was the worst weather we had had in ages. I had to walk home (didn't have a car then) and as I was walking home absolutely soaked to the bone I saw my SO with an umbrella walking to meet with me. He knew I was in a bad mood and being in the cold wet rain did not help so I am very thankful for that memory.

Sometimes All It Takes Is A Helping Hand

Last year, I moved into an apartment for a new job in a new city and was mega stressed about money. About two weeks in, I broke down in front of one of my roommates about how scared I was about not being able to pay rent and how I didn't have anywhere else to go.

The next day, the roommate found me and said that if I ended up really needing it, he would pay my rent until I could afford it and I could just pay him back later.

I told him it was very kind of him to offer, and I'd think about it. Then I went back to my room and SOBBED.

It was the first time in a year that anyone had offered to help me out of the bad situation I was in. I barely knew this guy and I knew he wasn't trying to get anything out of me (we were both dating other people at the time and were barely acquaintances). He was just offering because he was a kind dude.

Months later, to the surprise of both of us, we ended up dating. He's my boyfriend now. I see him make similar offers to friends all the time, and is just genuinely a kind person who likes helping people. He asks that I not mention his offers to anyone, because he doesn't want to embarrass anyone for needing to borrow money. He's not rich - just a regular guy with a regular job and a kind heart.

I don't know if he even remembers that offer he made to me (never took him up on it), but I think about it every day. I'm so proud to have a partner who is kind to people without expecting anything in return.

If They Let You Win, Then They're A Keeper

So I spent 2 weeks with my SO and I made him play monopoly. He doesn't like board games but I'm a big fan. I was talking about how they changed one of the pieces which used to be my go to. Honestly I didn't think he was paying attention because it was the stupidest thing. I go home and a few days later I get a package in the mail. He had bought me the little piece 🥺

Fields Forever In Your Home

I was driving her through Northern California where I grew up. It was her first time there. We passed strawberry stands along the highway and I didn't think anything of it. Once, she put her hand up to the window as we passed one. I guess she didn't want to ask me to stop. I stopped. The rest of the ride she munched strawberries. One after another. When she would look at me and smile I swear I knew I would keep this woman in strawberries forever.

Sometimes It's Not Just One Moment, It's All The Moments

homer simpson episode 25 GIFGiphy

Admitting you are wrong and striving - and really working - to do better is an unfortunately rare thing. My SO does this. He's not perfect at it, but it's unrealistic to expect him to be. The important thing is that he's self-aware and genuinely, authentically works to better himself. So many guys think they're above feedback or self-betterment.

My single fondest moment, though, is one that is just an ordinary day considering where we live. We went to just park and sit on Sugar Beach (we live in south Maui.) An ordinary day, an ordinary sunset, but just being there with him was extraordinary. We know how amazingly lucky we are to live where we do, and we are grateful for it every day of our lives. A beautiful sunset, great music on the radio, good company. What more could anyone want?
