Matthew McConaughey Shares Story Of Saving His Son From A Charging Mountain Ram

On Tuesday night, Matthew McConaughey was a guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. During his segment, they played "True Confessions" with The Roots' Tarik Trotter. During the game, McConaughey revealed the craziest confession.

If you're unfamiliar with Fallon's game, players must write down two confessions in separate envelopes. One confession is true, the other is a lie. The opponent chooses one envelope, listens to the confession, and decides whether it is the truth or the lie.

McConaughey read his to Trotter.

"I got charged by a mountain ram at the edge of the Grand Canyon and had to throw my 6-month-old child 15 feet through the air — to my wife — to save him."
Tarik decided that Matthew was lying, but was told otherwise when Matthew replied,
"That's a hundred percent true."

After McConaughey revealed that the tale was true, he went on to explain further.

Apparently this all happened nearly 10 years ago when he and his wife, Camila Alves, were picnicking near the Grand Canyon with their oldest son, Levi who was only 6 months old at the time, and their dog.

While they were enjoying their meal, a ram suddenly appeared. Their dog growled at it, but McConaughey managed to shoo his dog to safety. Camila ran down the hill to be at a safer proximity and Matthew proceeded to throw baby Levi to her.

He continued to reflect on the terrifying experience.

"I grabbed this little branch and I get behind it and it's this cherry bush and it's about as big as my pinky and I'm like, 'This is not gonna save me at all.' I squared off and just tried to go as Yoda as I could with this ram and just say, 'Not me, whatever it is,' and he was kicking dirt and everything."

They realized that the ram was angry because the family was located in between the ram and all of the females, so it was acting territorial.

As if McConaughey could get any sexier, let's add "saving his son" to his list of accolades.

But whether or not people find him tasty, no one can deny that what he did was impressive.

But let's not forget Camila's catching skills.
