Maryland Pro-Trump Billboard Threatening Liberals With Violence Sparks Controversy

A Maryland billboard that threatens liberals with violence is stirring controversy and thus causing a firestorm on social media.

Situated on private property in rural Calvert County approximately 30 miles from the nation's capital, the billboard tells liberals to "get your guns" if there is an attempt to impeach President Donald Trump. Of course, that's not how it works, but who doesn't need a daily dose of sedition?

"Hey liberals, better get your guns if you try to impeach President Trump. From all of your deplorables in Calvert County."

Local resident Michelle Rinker likes the sign. She told ABC 7 News:

"I love the billboard. We're conservative and there's a lot of corruption that's happened in this country and I don't think it's threatening."

Reactions from other locals, however, were not so forgiving. One woman said, "I hate the billboard" and that she found it to be "very threatening." Another local woman commented: "I am a liberal retired female who is a former police officer and I know all about guns!! Bring it on!"

Reactions on Twitter were charged, albeit mixed, as well. And they pretty much speak for themselves.

Brad Bell, Maryland Bureau Chief of ABC 7 News, tweeted that the local sheriff's office reported that the owner of the sign agreed to change it due to the outrage it incited, but Calvert County Sheriff Mike Evans has since removed the sign entirely, however, due to the controversy.

"This billboard in Calvert County has been shared thousands of time on social media and has prompted a growing controversy. Now the sheriff's office says the owner has agreed to change it."
