Lara Trump Mocked for Claim That Trump 'Tried to Warn' Nancy Pelosi About Jan. 6 Insurrection

Former President Donald Trump's lies that the 2020 election was "stolen" from him by Democrats engaging in widespread voter fraud threw his supporters into a frenzy.

After months of pressuring local officials, mounting failed lawsuits, and spewing a constant onslaught of disinformation, the former President delivered a speech outside the White House on January 6—the same day Congress convened in a joint session to certify then-President-elect Joe Biden's victory. Though the joint session had been little more than a formality for most of American history, Trump and his allies in Congress had for weeks painted it as the last stand for so-called democracy—the last chance for Trump to bypass the will of the American people.

Trump said in his speech:

"“All of us here today do not want to see our election victory stolen by emboldened radical-left Democrats. ... We will never give up. We will never concede. It doesn't happen. You don't concede when there's theft involved. ... And we fight. We fight like hell. And if you don't fight like hell, you're not going to have a country anymore."

Trump then instructed his supporters to march "peacefully and patriotically" to the Capitol to intimidate "weak" Republicans into voting to throw out electoral votes in states Trump lost.

As history will remember, the rioters proceeded to stage a deadly failed insurrection against the U.S. Capitol, shattering windows, ransacking offices, beating police officers, and calling for the execution of any lawmaker they saw as disloyal to Trump.

With the House Select Committee investigating the events of January 6, Trump allies are on defense after disturbing revelations regarding their actions before and during the insurrection.

Trump's daughter in law, Lara Trump, recently attempted to place the blame on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, insinuating that Trump actually tried to warn her about impending violence.

Watch below.

Lara Trump said in a Fox News interview:

"They all know that Donald Trump didn't orchestrate this thing. He didn't tell people to go to the Capitol and break in, he said let's 'peacefully and patriotically make our voices heard,' but he tried to warn them. So many people tried to warn Nancy Pelosi, so why didn't they have the adequate security there?"

Trump allies have repeatedly recited the talking point that Trump instructed supporters to "peacefully and patriotically" march to the Capitol, but fail to mention the two dozen times over the course of the half hour speech that he told them to "fight" and decried "weakness."

What's more, Lara Trump's implication is that Trump knew his supporters would be prone to violence. It was the former President who, as early as December 19, encouraged his supporters to converge on D.C. on January 6, promising the "big protest" would be "wild". What's more, it wasn't until hours after the riot unfolded that Trump finally instructed his supporters to go home, noting that he loved them and that they were "very special."

People weren't buying Lara Trump's nonsense.

Some also noted reports that organizers of January 6 used burner phones to correspond with multiple Trump allies, including Lara Trump.

More revelations from the January 6 committee are expected to come.

Marco Rubio Hit With Instant Video Factcheck After Claiming To Congress That He's 'Never Seen' Trump 'Fall Asleep'

California Democratic Representative Ted Lieu caught Secretary of State Marco Rubio in a blatant lie and presented video evidence after Rubio testified to Congress that he'd "never seen" President Donald Trump "fall asleep" during a Cabinet meeting.

Trump has repeatedly had to cover for always falling asleep during meetings and events, and regularly rages against anyone who points out obvious signs of age-related decline. Last month, a White House account claimed he was simply "blinking" after Trump appeared to fall asleep during an event on maternal health in the Oval Office.
