English actress Kate Beckinsale may have scared you a little as Selene in the Underworld film franchise, but a text conversation Beckinsale posted between she and her daughter revealed Beckinsale is less a creature of the night and more a comedian in hiding.

Beckinsale posted the conversation to Instagram, showing how she temporarily fooled her daughter into thinking she was about to go and post a photo of her butt online.

Following an extremely polite and proper conversation between she and daughter Lily Mo Sheen—whom she co-parented with ex Michael Sheen, Beckinsale revealed she was joking.

"I can't believe you can't recognize your own mother's anus from under the bed," she jested.

On a second page, Lily revealed she was indeed mortified to receive the text.

"I wouldn't even be embarrassed like for me if u posted that, I would be concerned."

Beckinsale assured her daughter no such post would ever cross her Instagram feed or other social media.

"What am I doing under the bed and when did I get that rug?" she said, teasing her daughter for being unable to pick up on the fact the picture was obviously not Beckinsale.

The original post by Madonna Beckinsale used for the prank was removed due to Instagram's anti-nudity rules.
