Gillian Anderson's Emmy Gown Was Subtly Decked Out In Tiny Penises—And Fans Are Obsessed

Gillian Anderson took home her second Emmy award in September and fans are going wild over the subtle yet noticeable penis shaped charms adorning her gown.

Anderson's first Emmy was in 1997 for her performance in The X-Files as FBI agent Dana Scully. This year she won Best Supporting Actress for her role as Margaret Thatcher in The Crown.

Upon taking a closer look at the bisexual icon's red carpet look—a stunning cream two piece with fringe—people began to notice the penis shaped charms that stood out against the elegant outfit.

This is definitely on brand for Anderson, who's been playing the role of a sex therapist on the hit Netflix series Sex Education. The third season just aired September 17.

She was somehow afraid we wouldn't notice her penis charms, so she took to her Instagram story to point it out for us.

She wrote:

"FYI in case you hadn't noticed. Repurposed penises."

Gillian Anderson said she had to go through an incredible physical and mental transformation to play the role of Margaret Thatcher.

Anderson said she had to set aside her own political beliefs to play the role of the divisive politician.

Anderson told Harpers Bazaar:

"I had to get to a point where it's nothing to do with my opinions of her policies, of her actions."
"It is only about her as a human being and her motivation as a politician and as a mother."

To go along with the theme of her dress, the cast and crew of Sex Education gave her a penis shaped cake for her win.

She captioned the photo with:

"Let them eat cake! Thank you thank you thank you."
"#sizedoesmatter #penisoftheyear"

Good thing she has a sense of humor.

While Anderson's win for her performance in The Crown was well deserved, the Emmys left TV fans feeling frustrated with their remaining issues with diversity.

Pose actress MJ Rodriguez was the first out transgender woman nominated in a leading acting category. Sadly, no one from the cast of the critically acclaimed show—which ended in 2021—won a single award this year.

And all 12 major acting categories went to White actors. Billy Porter, who plays Pray Tell on Pose and was the first openly gay Black man to win as lead actor in 2019—was nominated again this year but didn't win for his performance of a gay man facing an HIV+ status and AIDS in the late 1980s.

Many critics felt Porter's performance in the final season exceeded even his prior exceptional ones.

Pose goes down as the largest transgender and gender nonconforming cast and show to air in television history. The cast was also primarily BIPOC, which critics of the Emmys felt contributed to the show's lack of mainstream awards.

Even though this was the most diverse nominee list ever seen, the winged statuettes were not handed out with a similar nod to diversity.

Emmy voters remain overwhelmingly White which industry critics say means so will the awards.

'Dr. Pimple Popper' Star Reveals She Suffered Stroke While Filming Series: 'I Had A Part Of My Brain That Died'

It's already scary to witness a younger person go through a life-changing medical diagnosis, but it's especially jarring to see a medical professional, who presumably knows best about how to care for themselves, go through the same.

Sandra Lee, known as "Dr. Pimple Popper" on Lifetime, is well-known for her bedside manner, medical knowledge and ability to share her knowledge in an accessible way, and, of course, her unique approach to dermatological care.

Rob Schneider Dragged For Criticizing Elizabeth Banks' 'Dangerous Rhetoric' After She Called Out White Female Trump Voters

After actor and filmmaker Elizabeth Banks—who played Effie Trinket in The Hunger Games—called out white women who voted for President Donald Trump, MAGA actor Rob Schneider lashed out against what he referred to as her "dangerous rhetoric."

Those who've read the book and seen the film adaptation of The Hunger Games know that Trinket—known for joyfully announcing, "Happy Hunger Games and the odds may be ever in your favor!"—is a mistress of propaganda for a hostile government that forces teenagers to fight to the death every year to intimidate critics and keep society's poorest and most vulnerable in line. Trinket eventually embraces the rebellion.

Kid Rock Dragged After Offering Massive Discount To His MAGA Festival Due To Abysmal Ticket Sales

Musician Kid Rock has hitched his wagon to president Donald Trump for quite some time now, and it seems he too is in the "find out" stage of that particularly exercise in FAFO.

It seems that when the president you form your entire personality around craters to a catastrophic approval rating even for him, your ship starts to sink too.

Army Secretary Sparks Outrage After Shutting Down Army Social Media Accounts For Honoring Tammy Duckworth's Military Service

Army Secretary Dan Driscoll is facing heavy criticism after he ordered that all accounts associated with the Army unit "Soldier for Life" (SFL) be shut down after the unit shared a post on social media celebrating Illinois Democratic Senator Tammy Duckworth's military service.

Trump's Border Czar Ripped For Hypocrisy After Telling Pope Leo To 'Stay Out Of Politics'

President Donald Trump's border czar Tom Homan was called out for hypocrisy after telling Pope Leo XIV to "stay out of politics" after he clashed with Trump over the widely unpopular war in Iran.

Last week, Pope Leo criticized the war and called on the world "to reject war, especially a war which many people have said is an unjust war, which is continuing to escalate and is not resolving anything."
