A resurfaced clip of Gillian Anderson and her X-Files costar David Duchovny on Jimmy Kimmel Live in 2016 has been taking the internet by storm as viewers rediscover the undeniable chemistry between Fox Mulder and Dana Scully.

But THEN... a sub-frenzy ensued when people somehow just learned through the resurrected segment that Anderson is actually American.

We do, however, see where some of the confusion lies.


To be fair, though, Anderson did spend some of her childhood and many of her summers in London.

But... she's still not British, y'all.
