After John Legend shared a video of wife Teigen scrubbing body makeup off in the bath using his Loved01 exfoliating cleanser, trolls were quick to cry foul over how 'dirty' the bathwater looked.

One thing about being famous on the internet, no matter how innocuous your post, people will find a way to turn it into controversy.

Case in point: Chrissy Teigen and John Legend's recent post in which Teigen scrubbed body makeup off using one of Legend's skincare products.

People immediately called out Teigen for how supposedly filthy her bathwater was, as if it weren't obviously full of the aforementioned body makeup.

The video was part of Legend's promotion of his LovedO1 skincare line. "Sometimes you gotta exfoliate," Legend captioned the clip, in which Teigen scrubbed body makeup off her legs.

In the video, Legend asks Teigen what she's doing, to which she responds:

"Getting all my body makeup off."

It's a very short video—no longer than 15 seconds or so. That's pretty much the only interaction there is, so you kind of can't miss it. But miss it is exactly what most viewers seemed to do.

Tons of comments poured in focusing only on the brown-tinted bathwater Teigen was scrubbing in.

There were so many that Teigen eventually commented to address the uproar and clap back at all the grossed out commenters, writing:

"The water is dirty because I’m getting my body makeup off, like I said in the video my sweet angels!"

But that did little to quell the backlash—many commenters maintained that the video was gross regardless, with one writing:

"IDGAF if it is makeup. It looks dirty. 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️"

Others simply switched gears to being outraged about Teigen being "naked," which to these commenters seemed to refer to her exposed legs and arms (the horror!).

To normal people however, the whole thing seemed extremely silly, and they took to the comments to tell everyone else to calm down.

Leave it to the internet to not even pay the slightest attention to context and get outraged over nothing.
