Those struggling with anxiety and depression often feel like they're alone in their suffering, and unless you routinely battle the mental disorder, you won't understand the feelings of loneliness and despair.

But, actress Busy Philips wants to let sufferers of anxiety know they're not alone.

Philips joined the #MyYoungerSelf campaign with the non-profit organization group, Child Mind Institute, and shared a personal message on their Facebook page in which she admitted she had anxiety ever since she was a kid.

"I used to lie awake in bed at night and I would have spinning thoughts," said the 38-year-old actress.

It would be really hard for me to get to sleep and I would be so scared that I wouldn't even go to my parents' room. I didn't want to tell them what was happening because I thought there was something wrong with me. Turns out, there's nothing wrong with me.

Being open about her disorder alleviated her anxiety and opened a path for treatment. She added there was no shame in seeking help.

I was able to get help -- therapy, and sometimes medication. There's nothing wrong with that either. I would've liked to tell my younger self not to be embarrassed or ashamed, and to open up and to talk about what's happening ... It feels kind of incredible to know that you're not alone. So, you're not alone.

Twitter agreed.

The organization strives to dispel the stigma associated with mental health disorders that prevent young adults from seeking help. They also provide access to quality treatment and useful, accurate information to empower families to initiate awareness in local communities.

One way Philipps wards off anxiety is exercise.

Philipps also mentioned her struggle and strategies on an Instagram post.

I have anxiety and I have a tendency towards depression but I have found if I sweat like this, EVERY SINGLE DAY, I feel better, I'm calmer, I'm a better mom and those fogs of anxiety or sadness seem a little lighter. I've been picking my skin less, engaging in less binge eating and I've just felt better about myself.

Other celebrities have joined Philipps in the campaign for awareness, including Zoe Saldana, Jim Gaffigan, Ginger Zee and Olivia Culpo.

MTG Just Admitted The Awkward Truth About The Republican Healthcare Plan On 'The View'

Speaking on The View, Georgia Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene spoke about sparring with House Speaker Mike Johnson over healthcare—and revealed that the GOP does not have any replacement for the Affordable Care Act (ACA) despite what Johnson and her fellow congressional conservatives tell the public.

Democrats have continued to reject Republicans’ proposed continuing resolution to keep the government open without considering an extension of the premium tax credit that helps subsidize health insurance for people earning between 100% and 400% of the federal poverty level.

People Share The Best Ways To Shut Down A Debate With A Flat Earther Family Member

The Flat Earth conspiracy theory is strictly a modern online movement, rumored to have begun as a prank, that gained momentum among people who mistrust authority through the power of social media.

There is a persistent myth that Europeans in the Middle Ages believed the Earth was flat. But that is a 19th-century fabrication to sell Columbus Day, not historical reality.
