Contracting a severe case of sepsis, leading to the amputation of your fingers sounds demoralizing, to say the least.

Particularly if you contract sepsis on Christmas Day, an ordeal 34-year-old Sadie Kemp of Peterborough, England went through.

This past Christmas, Kemp was admitted to the hospital after suffering pain in her abdomen caused by a kidney stone.

The next day, Kemp contracted sepsis, a life threatening condition where your body's immune system begins to radically fight infection and ends up fighting healthy tissue in the body as well.

Kemp eventually fell into septic shock, resulting in her being put in a medically induced coma for 11 days.

Kemp’s limbs were badly infected, resulting in her temporary inability to walk and the amputation of her fingers.

But, as evidenced by several videos on her TikTok page where she goes by the username @sadiessepsisjourney, Kemp seems to be finding all the possible joy there is in her new situation.

In one video, poking fun at how her post-surgery hand resembled a shark, Kemp hummed the iconic theme from Jaws as she submerged what she dubbed her “shark hand” under water.

It was only a matter of time until Kemp made a video accompanied by, perhaps, the second most famous song synonymous with sharks—viral sensation “Baby Shark.”

In another video, she showed using a wheelchair didn't mean it wasn't possible to have a little fun.

Kemp gave a brief explanation of her need to find the positives in this situation in another video, which captured her putting on her make-up with her "shark hand."

"Today I learnt how to do my make up with my shark hand."
"I have spent my time in hospital adapting instead of looking at all the negatives."
"I have been trying really hard to still be me."
"Thank you all for your continued support you are all helping me with my mental health and your positive comments."

Kemp has also been open about the numerous pains and complications this experience has added to her life.

In another video, capturing her first time walking without assistance, she revealed both of her legs below the knee will also have to be amputated.

Though once again, Kemp only continued to accentuate the positive, saying in the video's caption how regaining her balance will hopefully make walking on her soon-to-be prosthetic legs easier.

"Today I learnt how to walk without use of my frame."
"I was very scared and a little bit wobbly but I did it."
"Hopefully my balance will come back."
"All of this will help me after my legs amputated, it will help me walk on my new prosthetics."

While in another video, she revealed her ordeal and her newly shaped hand has left her suddenly single.

While she didn't go into any further detail, she once again only emphasized the humor in this otherwise sad situation.

As she said in the video's caption, "sepsis ain't gonna stop me from getting my happy ending!"

With a "hot and single" sticker embedded in the upper left-hand corner of the video, Kemp made it abundantly clear she is ready to get back out on the dating scene upon leaving the hospital, even with her new, unique limbs.

"If there's any nice men out there who like the look of me, and are into aquariums and sharks, please let me know."

TikTokers shared how moved they were by her her ability to find joy and humor under these circumstances.

Kemp's friends have set up a GoFundMe page to help cover all expenses and bills accrued while Kemp has been in the hospital and unable to work, as well as to support her two sons.

The page has already raised over £36 thousand, approximately $48 thousand US dollars.
