With all the other hubbub surrounding Brett Kavanaugh, you may have forgotten about the report that recently surfaced that the judge was involved in a bar fight in Connecticut in 1985. But, it's definitely a story you should know about, if for no other reason than that it's completely ridiculous.

Chad Ludington, a former classmate of Kavanaugh's at Yale University, told The New York Times that Kavanaugh and his friends got into an altercation with a man who resembled Ali Campbell, the lead singer of band UB40.

The group of men proceeded to make the gentleman so uncomfortable that he asked them to leave him alone. In response, Kavanaugh "threw his beer at the guy," and swore, inciting a brawl.

"I don't know what Brett was doing in the melee, but there was blood, there was glass, there was beer and there was some shouting, and the police showed up," said Ludington.

Kavanaugh was not arrested, but was questioned by the police, and a 21-year-old man accused Kavanaugh of throwing ice on him.

Following the report in the Times, UB40 began trending on Twitter, as did 'Red Red Wine,' their famous 1983 cover of Neil Diamond's song of the same name.

And, to no one's surprised, 'Red Red Wine' is now a meme.

The meme has been especially successful playing on Kavanaugh's self-professed fanaticism for beer.

The pun would be really funny if the current situation in the U.S. were not so dire.

However, it serves as a reminder of who Brett Kavanaugh truly is, and the risk we take by allowing him onto the Supreme Court.

The FBI investigation into Kavanaugh is open, and the vote has been delayed. However, it remains to be seen what can be uncovered. We can only hope the nomination will be rescinded.

NBC Apologizes After Commentators Repeatedly Misgendered Trans Winter Olympic Skier

The International Olympic Committee is still trying to figure out what their position on transgender inclusion looks like and how decisions are made regarding which events athletes compete in. In the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics, Filipino boxer Hergie Bacyadan, a transgender man, had to compete in the women’s event because of their stage in their transition.

In the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics this year, per International Ski Federation regulations, Swedish moguls skier Elis Lundholm also has to compete in the women’s moguls event because he hasn't begun a masculinizing hormone replacement therapy regimen yet.
