As outgoing President Donald Trump's personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, has been one of the most visible defenders of Trump's continued efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election, which saw Trump defeated by President-elect Joe Biden.
Giuliani has made a number of bumbling attempts to prop up the lie that widespread election fraud coordinated by Democrats switched Trump votes to Biden votes and delivered a victory to the President-elect.
After numerous hearings and press conferences that went viral for all the wrong reasons, a recent tweet from Giuliani is leading some to believe that, unlike the President, he's coming closer to accepting the reality of a Biden administration in 2021.
In response to reporting from NBC News that federal prosecutors in the Southern District of New York are seeking permission from Department of Justice officials to access Giuliani's communications, the man formerly known as "America's Mayor" embarked on a Twitter diatribe.
Giuliani blamed "DOJ anti-Trumpers" for the development.
I'm proud to be number one on Biden Vindictive government list.
Sounds like the DOJ anti-Trumpers can't wait for Biden to make DOJ the GOVERNMENT Secret Police like they were under Obama.
They want to seize my emails.
No reason
No wrongdoing
Attorney-Client privilege.?

But in doing so, Giuliani treated Biden's presidency as an inevitability, apparently acknowledging that Biden would be in a position to appoint Justice Department officials.
People noticed.
Glad you've admitted Biden will be sworn in on January 20th. It's really about time that happened.

I see this as an admission that Biden is President-Elect
Or
An admission that the grand con was just that, and Rudy's attempt at earning a pardon. Help Trump steal an election and destroy democracy.
And in return
Receive a get out of jail free card...from a fucking criminal https://t.co/Sbz1msrT2h

In the very first sentence, @RudyGiuliani acknowledges that @JoeBiden is the President-Elect.
Oooo, your fuhrer @RealDonaldTrump will not like that. Not one bit.
Meanwhile it's TRUMP'S Department of Justice that's subpoenaing your documents, not Biden's. So drink up, a-hole! 🍻 https://t.co/5dYbw2xYcW

You have been telling anyone who listens (mainly bartenders and lushes) that biden didn't win so how can he come after you? #29days https://t.co/EdTgqioO7n
— Lois Sullivan (@lolosulli) December 22, 2020
So...you're saying Biden won then? https://t.co/HBdKm6z8Mo

Twitter users also reminded Giuliani that Biden isn't even in office yet—the federal prosecutors pursuing an investigation into his emails are doing so under Trump's Department of Justice.
To be clear, our reporting is not that some future-world prosecutors in the yet-to-exist Biden Administration are seeking Mr. Giuliani's emails. It's that federal line prosecutors **now** are after them. Under President Trump. And have talked to Main Justice about it already. https://t.co/IYfNwDttn2

Notice they're talking about subpoenaing your emails under Trump's DOJ - not Biden's https://t.co/iCdWkel5fl

This is actually happening right now, under President Trump and AG Bill Barr.
So maybe the problem here is actual crimes having been committed, and not vindictiveness? https://t.co/DPllWFiv8N

You've reportedly been under investigation by the Trump DOJ for at least two years. https://t.co/Q1B3zU3lYs

President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris won't be inaugurated until January 20th.
