Chicago Bar's New Policy Banning DJs From Playing Rap Music Is Being Called Out For Being Racist

Progress Bar, a gay bar in Chicago previously known for its "diversity in music," has come under fire after a leaked email shows the bar prohibiting DJs from playing rap music. Many claim the ban has clear racist implications.

Here's the email that leaked online from the management at Progress Bar:

The bar makes it clear their new policy isn't a loose one:

"This is not a suggestion!! If you play RAP you will not be asked back."

Management also noted that there will be extra security "to help with this transition and one specifically posted next to the DJ booth."

Progress Bar immediately began receiving one-star reviews on Yelp, while many of their patrons spoke out against the change. Drag performer Quinn Hegarty thought the policy was clearly rooted in racial motivations, writing on Facebook:

"Soooo Progress, are you just gonna come out and say black people aren't welcome in your establishment?"

Progress quickly responded to the online uproar by writing on Facebook:

"Progress ownership wants to make it VERY clear that EVERYONE IS WELCOME HERE!!! We have no ill intentions here. That can not be stressed enough. … We are still going to play hiphop, please don't read too much into this."

Twitter was having none of Progress's excuses:

Many Chicagoans pledged to boycott Progress Bar for the foreseeable future.

Many people also sounded off on how bad Progress's "apology" was.

It seems like Progress's decision to ban rap music might not have been the best business decision.

Many felt their PRIDE months would be best spent elsewhere...

Progress later released a more formal apology:

Only time will tell whether Progress Bar stays true to their name.

Trump Voter Dragged After Not Understanding How Prices Can Be Rising Due To Trump's Tariffs

On August 17, a MAGA minion took to Facebook looking for answers. They were confused about why prices were still high when MAGA Republican President Donald Trump promised he'd drop consumer prices on day one.

Adding to his confusion was the realization that he would be paying for tariffs, not China, or any of the other countries Trump promised would foot the bill.

Tucker Carlson Slammed After Agreeing With Guest Who Said We 'Should Have Sided With Hitler' In WWII

Former Fox News personality Tucker Carlson sparked backlash online after agreeing with Cornell University organic chemistry professor Dave Collum that Americans are learning World War II history "all wrong" and that the United States "should have sided with" genocidal German Nazi Party leader Adolf Hitler.

Collum likened himself to Darryl Cooper, another Carlson guest who has branded Winston Churchill the “chief villain” of World War II. He went on to invoke General George S. Patton, claiming Patton had voiced the same view. In reality, Patton warned after the war that the U.S. had “fought the wrong enemy,” a reference to his concern about the Soviet Union rather than advocacy for Hitler.

Trump Fires Director Of Digital Content After New TikTok Account Is Met With Thousands Of Trolling Comments

President Donald Trump fired Billy McLaughlin, his director of digital content, shortly after the White House's official TikTok account was inundated with social media users demanding the administration release the Epstein files, which are said to contain detailed lists of some of the late financier, pedophile, and sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein's most high-profile clients and enablers.

Trump himself is widely believed to be in the Epstein files and has rejected calls by his followers to release them, admonishing critics of Attorney General Pam Bondi, who recently concluded no such list exists, despite claiming the exact opposite just months ago.
