Some people put a lot of thought into what they name their pets, and it's often a reflection of the pet or owner's personality.
A clever pun, a play on the pet's fur color or breed, what other animal they look like, or a variation on the name of a historical figure are all common ways to come up with a name.
A recent post from @metroadlib on Twitter, and the many replies, show that even after all the work to come up with a great name many people end up calling their pet something completely different.
People shared their pets' pet names.
It seems clear that nobody calls their pets by their given names, but they still love us and we love them anyway.
