Riley Gaines Ripped After Boasting About Getting 'Groveling' Apology From Simone Biles
Jun 16, 2025
Anti-trans activist and former NCAA swimmer Riley Gaines was called out after she boasted about getting a "groveling" apology from Olympic gymnast Simone Biles just days after Biles criticized her for regularly attacking the transgender community for participating in sports instead of promoting inclusivity.
Last week, Biles ridiculed Gaines in a post on X after Gaines complained about a recent victory by a Minnesota high school softball team that has become a focus of conservative media attention due to the reported inclusion of a transgender girl on the roster.
Biles called Gaines "truly sick" for fixating on transgender issues since coming in fifth place in the NCAA freestyle final with a transgender woman, a development Gaines has said amounts to being deprived of a regular victory. Biles said Gaines is a "bully" and that "no one in sports is safe with you [Gaines] around."
Biles did apologize afterward but she did not change her stance; she merely said she was sorry for the personal insults:
“I’ve always believed competitive equity & inclusivity are both essential in sport. The current system doesn’t adequately balance these important principles, which often leads to frustration and heated exchanges, and it didn’t help for me to get personal with Riley, which I apologize for.”
"These are sensitive, complicated issues that I truly don’t have the answers or solutions to, but I believe it starts with empathy and respect. I was not advocating for policies that compromise fairness in women’s sports."
"My objection is to be singling out children for public scrutiny in ways that feel personal and harmful. Individual athletes—especially kids—should never be the focus of criticism of a flawed system they have no control over.”
But Gaines suggested Biles came to her "groveling" since "tweeting pro-trans propaganda":
“I accept her apology. I see this truthfully as a really big win. You have this really famous public figure who is now issuing a groveling and backtracks after, again, tweeting pro-trans propaganda, if you will, this scenario would have been unthinkable a year, certainly two years ago.”
“Whether it’s sincere or not, I think that’s a different question, but nonetheless, she learned we are not living in 2020 anymore."
You can hear what she said in the video below.
Gaines was swiftly called out.
Given that Gaines recently made headlines for complaining that the University of Maryland should have been "honoring entrepreneurs or veterans or innovators" instead of having Kermit the Frog give a commencement speech at a graduation ceremony, we probably shouldn't be taking her too seriously.

John Mulaney Speaks Out After Wife Olivia Munn Gets Death Threats Over Ms. Rachel Comment
Jun 16, 2025
Actor and comedian John Mulaney has taken to Instagram to lambaste users for sending death threats to his wife Olivia Munn and their kids.
Munn sparked major controversy last week when she said in a People magazine interview that she hates watching popular kids' YouTuber Ms. Rachel, whose full name is Rachel Anne Griffin Accurso.
Given Ms. Rachel's outspoken advocacy for victims of the Gaza genocide, people assumed Munn's comments were a subtle dig at her work on the matter.
In an Instagram Story, Mulaney said the uproar escalated to death threats even after Ms. Rachel herself asked fans to direct their ire at People, not Munn.
Mulaney wrote:
“An innocent comment my wife Olivia Munn made about what children’s programs we like has somehow — unbelievably — been conflated with not caring about the deaths of children in Gaza."
" “Because of this, my wife and my two kids are now receiving violent and threatening comments and messages in her DMs."
"This is absolutely insane and needs to stop. The people doing this are so wildly out of line and so unhelpful to any conversation... This kind of behavior is not activism."
In the since-deleted People article in question, Munn also said she dislikes Blue's Clues and other kids' programming, simply because she finds children's television grating and annoying. That seemed to have escaped the notice of the "activists" in question.
What seems to have initially sparked the outcry was a since-deleted post from Ms. Rachel herself highlighting the way People was focusing on Munn's comment rather than her work in Gaza itself.
In that post, she explicitly laid the blame at the feet of People, not Munn, a sentiment she reiterated in a more recent post asking her fans to leave Munn and Mulaney alone.
Many online have praised Mulaney's response, especially because incidents like this give fodder to those who have consistently smeared Gaza advocates as unhinged.
"'This kind of behaviour isn’t activism' feels crucial. Streamline your efforts into something useful, like contacting your local politicians or donating or sharing information.:"
"I think people just want someone to cancel and hate and hide under the guise of caring about what’s going on in the world." —Dismal_Answer_2761
"they're sending threats to children to show... they care about children?" —Classic-Carpet7609
"It's extremely clear she's saying that she doesn't like to watch little kid's shows because they're not entertaining or interesting to adults... Munn is obviously not saying anything about Ms. Rachel's (good, cool) advocacy for Gaza, but she's also not even saying anything very negative about Ms. Rachel in general!"
"Are, we, like OK? As a species?" —ThatSpencerGuy
The answer to that question is no, we are not—and the fact that an entire mob of people ended up sending death threats to kids over a controversy they invented themselves due to their own lack of media literacy and refusal to read beyond a headline is the proof.
Meanwhile, how many more kids in Gaza died while these people were spending their time and energy screaming at Olivia Munn on Instagram?

Florida MAGA Voter Tears Up After ICE Detains A Third Of His Workers—And Now He Can't Find New Ones
Jun 16, 2025
As MAGA Republican President Donald Trump ramps up the agenda put forth for him by the misogynist, White supremacist, Christian nationalist Heritage Foundation's Project 2025—which includes importing White people and deporting as many Black and brown people as possible in response to the Great Replacement conspiracy theory—more and more 2024 Trump voters are asking why they're being negatively impacted.
Business owners, who as a matter of routine hired non-White documented and undocumented immigrants, are complaining that the agenda they endorsed in the voting booth is now hurting their bank accounts. People like roofing company owner Vincent Scardina of Florida.
Six of Scardina's roofers—all from Nicaragua—failed to show up at a job. That's one third of his company's workforce.
When their vehicle was found by the side of the road, their families discovered the men—almost all of whom are in the United States on work permits—were abducted by the Department of Homeland Security's Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
It's a story that keeps repeating wherever ICE has taken up operations.
Scardina told local NBC News affiliate NBC6 that he agrees with most of what Trump does, but:
"It's going to be really hard to replace those guys. We're not able in Key West to just replace people as easily as, say, a big city, very limited people to pull from, and then you would have to train them, and that takes sometimes years."
Becoming emotional, Scardina added:
"Well, you know, you get to know these guys, you become their friends, just not an employer, but a friend, and you see what happens to their family. It's… It's quite a shock."
NBC News/Facebook
Then Scardina repeated the same sentiment as many owners of restaurants, construction companies, landscaping companies, and hospitality industry employers that voted for Trump back in November.
Scardina said he bought Trump's claim Homeland Security and ICE were going to deport criminals, but he now thinks ICE is just "trying to meet quotas."
He said:
"What happened here? This situation is just totally, just blatantly, not at all what they said it was."
"It's not just happening to me. I mean, it's happening across the board to several contractors. I know they're all being hit by this hard. I know of one landscaper that lost nine or 10 of his whole crew he had and he's just totally out of business all of a sudden, just like that."
You can see the news report here:
Regilucia Smith, the men's attorney, told NBC6:
"They are legally here. They have an authorization to stay."
Smith said all but one of the workers had all of their paperwork in order and had pending asylum cases.
"Valid work permit, not even close to be expired… and again, no criminal record, not here, not in Nicaragua."
While people were outraged over more extrajudicial activity by HHS Secretary Kristi Noem's department and its agents, they were less than sympathetic for Vincent Scardina and anyone who enabled the Trump administration.
Company employee Virgil Scardina—whose possible familial relationship to Vincent is undisclosed in the news reports—was angered by the injustice.
Virgil Scardina told NBC6:
"It's mind-blowing. It's just not right. It just isn't right."
"It was pretty obvious from the beginning that they were pulled over simply because they were six Latino men in a work truck."
"It’s been a lot of tears. It's been an incredible amount of sadness, and we still just can't figure out why."
Mindful of the company's concerns, Virgil Scardina stated that wasn't the worst part of the situation.
"Our business is struggling. You know, make no mistake. This has the potential to cause us some significant problems. But I still get to go home and give my child a hug at night. These guys do not, and they don't deserve that."
"It's incredibly fearful, not just for people who are of Latino descent that might get targeted, but also for small business owners, also for the local community, and ultimately, I just have to ask myself, who wins in this scenario?"
A no win situation, indeed—unless the end goal of this Project 2025 initiative is making America White(r) again.

Video Of Tank Squeaking Through Sparse Crowd At Trump's Military Parade Sparks Hilarious Memes
Jun 16, 2025
People are cracking up after a video of a tank squeaking through a sparse crowd down Constitution Avenue on Saturday during President Donald Trump's military parade sparked commentary and memes about the controversial event.
Trump had long wanted a military showcase in the U.S.; during his first term, he expressed a desire for a military parade after witnessing a Bastille Day parade in Paris. However, the event he gave—a celebration of the U.S. Army's 250th anniversary that also coincided with his 79th birthday—was poorly organized.
And few images of the day exemplify this hot mess more than the sight of a squeaky tank rolling down the street during the festivities... not exactly the image of military might one would have anticipated.
Scripps News correspondent Elizabeth Landers got it all on video—and it's as cringey as you're imagining.
You can see the video below.
The second-hand embarrassment was real—and the commentary was hilarious.
Others criticized Trump more directly, only underscoring how unimpressive the whole affair really was.
Unfortunately for Trump and his giant vanity project, there were much bigger stories both domestically and internationally that garnered attention across the U.S.
Saturday’s headlines were dominated by a manhunt in Minnesota following the assassination of a Democratic state lawmaker and the attempted assassination of another. As festivities unfolded in Washington, Minnesota officials scrambled to investigate the attack, which had unfolded just hours earlier. A suspect has since been arrested.
The violence cast a grim shadow over an already tense day, marked by stark contrasts: the military parade that rolled through the nation’s capital felt remarkably out of place as mass protests against the Trump administration took place across the country.
Meanwhile, rising tensions in the Middle East—amid escalating hostilities between Israel and Iran—fueled fears of a broader regional conflict... which of course took attention away from Trump, and we all know how much he hates that.

Jesse Watters Blasted For Hypocrisy After Using Term He Was Previously Outraged By
Jun 16, 2025
Fox News personality Jesse Watters was called out for hypocrisy after he described the oustings of ABC News correspondent Terry Moran and Democratic National Committee (DNC) Vice Chair David Hogg as them having been "86'd"—just weeks after complaining about the term "86 47," which he sees as a clear call to assassinate President Donald Trump.
The term "86" means to eject, discard, or disprove of, and though it's said to have military origins, it's commonly used in restaurants when getting rid of unruly customers or when a patron has specific dietary restrictions. For example, saying "86 the mushrooms on the burger" means to prepare a burger sans mushrooms. Similarly, saying "86 the burger with mushrooms" means to not make the burger at all.
The term has garnered renewed attention since former FBI chief James Comey shared an image on social media of seashells on a beach arranged to resemble the numbers "86 47." Comey said he discovered the seashell arrangement during a walk on the beach and believed it to be a political statement. Critics, however, have argued the display was intended as a threat against Trump.
The term can also be used to refer to an ouster such as in the case of Moran, who was fired from ABC News after referring to Trump's senior adviser Stephen Miller as “a world-class hater" in a social media post. And it can also be used in reference to Hogg, who was pushed out of his DNC leadership role for vowing to primary members of the Democratic Party's old guard.
Of Moran's firing, Watters had this to say:
“ABC just 86’d Terry Moran for calling Stephen Miller a hateful bigot. This was probably the easiest thing ABC ever had to do.”
You can hear what he said in the video below.
- YouTubewww.youtube.com
And of Hogg, Watters said:
"So this guy got 86’d because he’s white, he’s a guy and allegedly he’s straight,” Watters said Wednesday. “I don’t want to impose that on him. The Democrats say they learned a lesson last election, but you look at this and it doesn’t look like they learned anything.”
You can hear what he said in the video below.
And yet Watters was furious last month when Comey made the news for his alleged threat against the president, saying:
“He obviously was trying to put a hit out on Trump, got caught, deleted it. And he’s got a book out—oh, what a coincidence! Any cop, any prosecutor knows the code for homicide.”
You can hear what he said in the video below.
Watters was promoting a conspiracy theory at the time. While police codes for homicide differ by jurisdiction, “86” is not recognized by any known law enforcement agency as a code for murder. The most widely recognized code for homicide is California's “187,” popularized through West Coast hip-hop and crime films set in Los Angeles.
Watters was called out for his hypocrisy.
Just another day at Fox News.
