Jonathan Bailey Has A Clarinet Solo On The 'Jurassic World Rebirth' Soundtrack—And It's Too Cute

The actor shared with Jimmy Fallon how he got to play a clarinet solo for the soundtrack of the upcoming Jurassic Park sequel—for his own character's theme, no less—calling the experience "a highlight of my career."

Jonathan Bailey seems to be making a career that involves living out the dreams of his younger self.

With the new Jurassic Park sequel, Bailey got to live every dinosaur kid's dream and be in a movie with them. He was also able to get his orchestra geek on while the score was being recorded.

The actor, most widely known for his roles in Wicked and Bridgerton, had a hidden talent: he plays a pretty mean clarinet.

While visiting The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to promote Jurassic World Rebirth, the actor talked about playing scientist Dr. Henry Loomis. He revealed he has a clarinet solo in the soundtrack, which came about when he was nerding out at the orchestra's recording sessions at Abbey Road studios.

He and a friend went to watch the 105-person orchestra, but eventually he couldn't contain himself.

"As the week progressed, I came back and I was like, 'Can I bring my clarinet?' I played the clarinet in school. And on the Friday, they said, 'Look, you can come.'"
"I just wanted to play one — even if it was, like, one slightly sharp note. ... Would've been my dream come true."

He got a little bit more than just one note. Alexander Desplat, whose new score incorporates and honors the iconic John Williams' original theme, ended up inviting him to perform one of the clarinet solos in the soundtrack.

At first Bailey demurred, but he eventually got into the spirit, prepared the piece, and was able to record the theme for his own character on clarinet.

Bailey's own background on the instrument stretches as far back as the original Jurassic Park film itself, beginning with a plastic clarinet gift from his grandfather in 1993.

He said he never could have dreamed that this would be the future of that instrument choice.

"It just shows that if you find something you love and you commit to it, you never know how it comes full circle...But honestly, it was so emotional."

Newsmax Host Epically Blasted For His Hypocrisy After Defending Trump's Profane Easter Tweet

Newsmax host Greg Kelly defended President Donald Trump's use of profanity in his Easter morning threat to Iran, prompting critics to resurface one of his own past tweets calling for a ban on use of the f-word.

Trump lashed out at Iran amid growing concerns about tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, a narrow passage at the entrance to the Persian Gulf that carries roughly 20% of the world’s oil supply. Recently, Iran has struck several vessels in the area and warned ships against entering the passage, effectively halting traffic through one of the world’s most crucial energy routes.
