No one says growing up is easy. Taxes, marriage, buying a car, having kids, going to college, and doing dishes are all exactly as hard as you think they are. However, knowing where the pitfalls will be can maybe give you a chance to bypass them.

Reddit user, u/PersonalMachine, wanted to know the slip-ups you'll make in life when they asked:

What's a trap that almost everyone will fall into at some point in their lives?

Once You're Past 23, This Is A No Go

Staying up way too late, thinking you'll be just fine for the morning.

Unhappy_Needleworker

4 hours till I have to get up for work? I'm sure 3 hours is enough sleep. I'll definitely be rested if i get 2 hours of sleep. Is that... the sun?

It's Just Their Job

Trusting people who are not their friends, but are instead doing their job.

  • HR representatives.
  • Realtors.
  • People looking for investors who have a 'sure thing'.
  • Managers asking 'how are you doing?"

Those are the people I shouldn't have trusted and did.

None Of It Is Real

Comparing yourself to others in an unhealthy way.

Social media has made this a much more common problem but it can be easy to look at someone else's life and get down on yourself even tho it's not a fair or accurate comparison.

It's Never Too Late To Back Out Now

A bit surprised nobody mentioned this one yet, sunken cost fallacy.

Thinking "well, I've invested THIS much already, might as well invest more to get it done with" or " I've gone this far, why end it now?". I see this happen all the time.

I learned it in a few classes but I found it applies with way more than real investments. I see people doing this with relationships where they think they can change someone, workplaces people don't want to leave, etc...

Again. It's A Job.

Actually thinking that the cute cashier/stripper really likes and cares about you. Usually young lonely men fall to this...

Trump's Commencement Speech Claim That The U.S. Is 'Hot' Right Now Turns Into Hilariously Brutal Self-Own

President Donald Trump's attempt to smear the Biden administration turned into a self-own while he spoke at the commencement ceremony for the U.S. Coast Guard Academy this week.

Trump spoke as several hundred protesters gathered outside Coast Guard Academy campus in New London, Connecticut. During the nearly hour-long address to cadets and their families, he alternated between praising the graduating class of 2026 and revisiting familiar themes about what he described as the country’s recovery after a period of decline.

ChatGPT Response Appears To Make It Into School Textbook—And We're Doomed

Students are being actively discouraged from using ChatGPT and other AI-generation tools, as they are expected to learn their educational concepts and be able to put them into practice. They are also not supposed to use these tools while writing papers or during at-home tests.

Given how expensive grade school and college textbooks are, it is reasonable that educational writers and content professionals should be held to the same standards. Wouldn't it make sense for them to use the knowledge of their field, rather than what's been fed into ChatGPT, to make a textbook a worthwhile purchase for students?

Jack Osbourne Responds To Trolls Who Claim He Looks 'Grossly Underweight' With Fiery Clapback Video

Content Warning: body-shaming, weight-shaming

Some people really wouldn't be able to recognize Bruce Wayne and Batman, or Clark Kent and Superman, as the same person, and that fact has never been more evident than with the internet trolls who are thrown off by a haircut.
