The Oscar winner called out the sexist pay disparity between male and female actors in Hollywood during an interview with CNN host Christiane Amanpour.

During an interview with CNN host Christiane Amanpour on Saturday, Olivia Colman said she would be making a lot more money if she were a man... a “f**k of a lot more" money, to be exact.

Colman was promoting her new film Wicked Little Letters when the host asked her if women are now considered "big box office draws."

The Wonka actor responded:

"I mean, research suggests that they've always been big box office draws."

She continued:

"Don't get me started on pay disparity, but male actors get paid more because they used to say they draw in the audiences."
"And actually, that hasn't been true for decades, but they still like to use that as a reason to not pay women as much as their male counterparts."

Amanpour then asked if Colman had experienced any such disparities, to which she replied:

"I'm very aware that if I were Oliver Colman, I'd be earning a f**k of a lot more than I am.”

She added:

“I know of one pay disparity, which is a 12,000% difference."

People on social media applauded Colman for speaking out on the sexist pay disparity in the film and TV industry.

Others noted that the disparity is even greater for Black women in the industry.

Just a few months ago, in fact, Taraji P. Henson addressed the issue during an interview with Gayle King on SiriusXM, telling the host:

“It seems every time I do something and I break another glass ceiling, when it’s time to renegotiate, I’m at the bottom again, like I never did what I just did."
“And I’m just tired. It wears on you, you know?”

Keep speaking out, ladies!
