Nikki Haley Voter Bluntly Explains Why She Turned Against Trump In Epic Viral Clip
MSNBC

A North Carolina voter who previously supported Trump before switching her vote to Nikki Haley explained to NBC News correspondent Shaquille Brewster that it's because Trump 'is a lunatic.'

A video capturing a North Carolina woman's candid explanation for switching her allegiance from former President Donald Trump to his 2024 rival Nikki Haley in the GOP primary has gone viral, drawing attention on Super Tuesday.

In the clip, NBC News correspondent Shaquille Brewster interviews the voter, asking her about the transition from supporting Trump to favoring Haley, to which the woman gave the following straightforward response:

“The man is a lunatic and I think he’s terrible for the country. He lies, he cheats, he’s bankrupted millions of businesses and people, and I don’t see anything good about him."

You can hear what the woman said below.

When questioned whether she would choose to support President Joe Biden over Trump in the November election if Trump becomes the Republican nominee, the woman expressed uncertainty. She stated that she wouldn't vote for Biden and admitted to being unsure about what decision to make.

According to Brewster, the voter mentioned that she might contemplate voting for Trump in the general election, provided he selects a running mate whom she finds appealing.

Her criticisms of Trump quickly went viral—and many agreed.

Haley announced the suspension of her presidential campaign on Wednesday following a defeat on Super Tuesday, effectively leaving Trump as the sole prominent candidate for the 2024 Republican nomination.

Haley refrained from endorsing the former president. Instead, she issued a challenge to Trump, urging him to secure the support of moderate Republicans and independent voters who had backed her candidacy. She stressed that "politics is about bringing people into your cause, not turning them away."

Exit polls from key states on Super Tuesday indicate that Trump may face challenges in winning over Haley's voters. A poll cited by CNN revealed that more than three-quarters of Haley supporters were not committed to voting for the presumptive GOP nominee in November.
