ABC Just Released Bonkers Video of Donald Trump Freaking Out on His Chief of Staff Because He Coughed During His Stephanopoulos Interview
ABC News

Wow.

President Donald Trump had already raised eyebrows in an interview with ABC's George Stephanopoulos for claiming he'd possibly accept foreign interference if it ensured a win in his 2020 reelection bid.

But now another candid moment from the interview is making waves.

As Trump was bragging about his "financial statement" to Stephanopoulos, the President's Chief of Staff, Mick Mulvaney, let slip a cough while Trump was speaking. The president finished his remarks before demanding that Mulvaney leave the room and then asked for a second take.

A visibly agitated Trump says in the video, after the cough:

"Let's do that over. He's coughing in the middle of my answer. I don't like that...If you're gonna cough, please leave the room. You just can't, you just can't cough."

Trump went on to finish his answer, claiming that he'd like to release his "phenomenal" financial statement, but that it's not up to him (it is).

Watch below:

The outtake went viral on Twitter, and at least one journalist heard from a 2016 Trump campaign employee about the president's distaste for coughing.

"I was told by multiple people when I came aboard to never cough or sneeze while in the presence of Trump. He thinks it’s a sign of weakness and lack of control. Nobody ever recovers.”

Though the president may see coughing and sneezing as indicative of a lack of control, many saw his berating of Mulvaney as indicative of extreme vanity.

Others weren't distracted by the cough, but by the president's empty assurances regarding his financial statements.

Yikes.

Trump Bizarrely Clashes With Reporter Over Photoshopped 'Tattoo' On Abrego Garcia's Knuckles

President Donald Trump sparked criticism after claiming during an interview with ABC News’ Terry Moran that an edited photo depicting tattoos of wrongly-deported Maryland father Kilmar Abrego Garcia showed that he has an alleged connection to the MS-13 gang.

Abrego Garcia, a Salvadoran national who arrived in the U.S. in 2012, was labeled a threat in 2019 due to an alleged connection to MS-13. He spent months in detention before an immigration judge found he had a credible fear of persecution—not from MS-13, but from a rival group, Barrio 18, which he said had been extorting his family.

Leavitt Lashes Out At Amazon Over 'Hostile' Plan To Display Added Tariff Costs For Products On Website

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt lashed out at Amazon over news that the commerce giant planned to display increased "import charges" on items on their Amazon Haul website, essentially showing to customers the extra money they'd have to shell out as a result of President Donald Trump's tariffs.

Trump has escalated a growing trade war by imposing tariffs of up to 145% on Chinese imports, prompting China to retaliate with its own 125% tariffs on American goods. Additionally, the U.S. has slapped a 10% tax on imports from most other countries, while temporarily suspending higher rates for several nations for 90 days.
