Fans Are Stoked For Missy Elliott After She Makes History With Hall Of Fame Honor ❤️

On Saturday, January 12, rapper Missy Elliott made history when it was announced she would be the first female hip hop artist to be inducted into the Songwriter's Hall of Fame!


Elliot will be inducted alongside "Dallas Austin, Tom T. Hall, John Prine, Jack Tempchin and Yusuf/Cat Stevens."


Elliott took to Twitter to thank the SHOF for the honor and congratulate her fellow nominees.

The internet celebrated as a plethora of stars and collaborators thought the award was long overdue!





Fellow songwriting stars like Bruno Mars, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and John Legend couldn't hold back their joy.



For both her work as a performer and as a songwriter, there are artists as universally respected as Missy Elliott.



For fans, this moment was no surprise at all.



Elliott's inclusion on the list of inductees is a fantastic step forward for female hip-hop artists everywhere.
