Madonna Called Out For Her 'Privilege' After Bizarre Bathtub Video Calling Global Pandemic 'The Great Equalizer'

Madonna Called Out For Her 'Privilege' After Bizarre Bathtub Video Calling Global Pandemic 'The Great Equalizer'

Celebrities are finding their actions under intense scrutiny in light of current events.

The Gal Godot-led cover of John Lennon's "Imagine" resulted in mostly backlash.

Now Madonna started another wave via her Instagram.

The video begins with Madonna sitting in a milky bathtub with rose petals.

Regarding the pandemic, she says:

"It doesn't care about how rich you are, how famous you are, how funny you are. How smart you are, where you live, how old you are, what amazing stories you can tell. It's the great equalizer and what's terrible about it is what's great about it."

Ironically, calling it the great equalizer while she sat in a very pretty bathroom in a well-shot bathtub did not go over well with fans.

The message feels tone deaf against the backdrop of the current situation.

Hospitals are close to exhausting supplies and equipment—including life-saving items such as ventilators. Beds are running short and folks are out of work and in danger of losing their homes.

Madonna is in a bathtub in her house under no danger of eviction or starvation saying "it's made us all equal."

Reportedly, the 61-year-old singer is self-isolating in London alongside her boyfriend Ahlamalik Williams and daughter Mercy James.

Time will tell whose gestures will be well received and who will draw public condemnation.

In order for this trend to work, the person has to poke a hole into each end of the egg to drain it of its yolk and let the shell dry, so it becomes more brittle and easy to crush, making the prank more believable.

Guy Sparks Debate After Abandoning Girlfriend In Economy While He Booked Himself A First Class Seat On Flight

Guy Sparks Modern Dating Debate With His Unhinged Texts To Woman Who Turned Him Down For Second Date

You know what they say: if a person has to point out how nice they are, they probably aren't really all that nice.

Actions tend to speak louder than words, with an affinity for niceness and kindness being among the best examples. When a person is truly nice and kind, it will come through in their daily attitude and actions without them having to say anything at all.
