MAGA Lawmaker Tries To Explain What 'Chemtrails' Are After Proposing Bonkers Ban—And It Doesn't Go Well

The Louisiana state House of Representatives passed a bill banning "chemtrails" that they claim manipulate the weather—but the bill's sponsor, Rep. Kimberly Landry Coates, couldn't quite explain how it's done.

MAGA Republican lawmakers in the Louisiana House of Representatives passed state bill 46 (SB46) on May 29 to ban "chemtrails" in Louisiana airspace.

One of the bill's major proponents, MAGA Representative Kimberly Landry Coates, claimed SB46 was necessary because "chemtrails" are altering the weather. Speaking on the House floor, Coates said she is concerned about the white streaks she has seen in the sky, claiming they create clouds and affect weather patterns.

But when pressed for details by Democratic House members, Coates struggled to answer any of their questions or to provide any proof to back her claims.

Coates said:

"This bill is to prevent any chemicals above us in the air, specifically to modify the weather."

Air and water are indeed made of chemicals, and both do affect the weather, but they don't get into Earth's atmosphere by being sprayed by planes.

Louisiana Democratic state Representative Candace Newell asked Coates about the chemicals she thinks are in the "chemtrails."

Representative Newell asked:

“Other than the nanoparticles of aluminum, what else have you found?"

Coates responded:

"Barium. There is a few, some with long words that I can’t pronounce."

When asked who is behind her chemtrail conspiracy, Coates responded:

"There are multiple people. Multiple groups, contractors."

She later added:

"So when you look up in the air, you look, watch for the big white lines across the sky."

People mocked the MAGA GOP majority in the Louisiana House of Representatives for even conceiving of SB46.

The chemtrail conspiracy theory centers on the belief that the white trails of condensation in the sky following high-flying aircraft are actually "chemtrails" consisting of chemical or biological agents sprayed by the planes for nefarious purposes.

Proponents of the conspiracy theory claim contrails dissipate quickly, but any trails that last more than a few seconds are chemical or biological substances sprayed by the plane.

Conspiracy theorists have a laundry list of purposes for chemtrails, including solar radiation management, weather modification, psychological manipulation, human population control, biological or chemical warfare, and testing of biological or chemical agents on the unsuspecting population they'll drift down onto.

They also claim chemtrails are what causes respiratory illnesses like asthma and COPD as well as other health issues, from cancer to autism.

Does Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. know this? Maybe someone should tell him.

AOC Has Mic Drop Response To MAGA Republicans Who Try To Mock 'Democratic Priorities'

New York Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez issued a powerful rebuke against President Donald Trump and the MAGA movement, pointing out why mocking things like affordable housing and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as "Democrat priorities" ultimately hurts Republicans.

Ocasio-Cortez, speaking during a CNN town hall alongside Vermont Independent Senator Bernie Sanders, accused Republicans of refusing to work to end the government shutdown, stressing that the country’s health care system could collapse if Republicans refuse to meet Democrats’ demands in negotiations.

GOP Rep. Blames Coordinated 'Ruse' After Swastika Image Is Seen Displayed In His Office

Ohio Republican Representative Dave Taylor demanded an investigation after a swastika image was found on display in his Washington, D.C., office, and blamed it on a "targeted" "ruse."

Politico obtained a photo from a virtual meeting showing a distorted image of the American flag—its red and white lines altered into the shape of a swastika— pinned to what appears to be a cubicle wall behind Angelo Elia, a staffer for Taylor. Beside it hung a pocket Constitution and a congressional calendar. Elia’s involvement in the incident, if any, remains unclear.
