The singer didn't mince words while she berated fans for 'believing absolutely anything they see on social media.'

Lizzo sounded off on those who believe everything they see on the internet and make harsh criticisms based on false rumors.

When a celebrity achieves a certain level of fame, it's only a matter of time before fans start speculating on a star's net worth and what fancy cars and how many pied-à-terres they own.

The "Good As Hell" singer immediately shut down a claim made by the real estate TikTok account, @mansiontok, about her "supposedly” renting a 4,300 square-foot home in Palm Springs for $5,000 a night.

She stitched together the video at the beginning in which the TikToker showed a photo of her alleged four-bedroom five-bathroom rental that is so bougie, it comes with its own helipad.

Lizzo interjected with concern.

“We need to talk about the epidemic of people believing absolutely anything they see on social media.”

You can hear what she had to say in full, here.

She talked about the lengths gullible critics go to in bashing her without knowing the facts.

“Not only did you watch this video and believe it, but you were so enraged by the content of this video that you chose to step outside yourself and comment on the video and talk sh*t about me."

She described the target of her presumptuous attackers as:

"a person you don’t know, a person who you don’t know where I live, and even if I did choose to live in a helicopter-a** pad in Palm Springs, that’s my prerogative!"
"What does where I live got to do with you? People be so passionate about absolutely nothing."

Lizzo realized the unhealthy consequences of prolonged internet activity, saying:

"Now I know why people say ‘touch grass,’ because clearly all you doing is touching this computer screen, chronically online.”

In conclusion, Lizzo rightfully dismissed a troll who was baffled by the singer's undisclosed wealth based on her plateauing star power.

“Somebody was like, ‘She hasn’t had a hit since 2019, she’s only had two hit songs: How can she afford to live there?’"
"If that’s not the most broke b*tch mentality comment I’ve ever heard… keep that energy away from me.”

Lizzo attained commercial success with the release of her third studio album, 2019's Cuz I Love You–which spawned the two singles, "Juice" and "Tempo".

Her previously released single from 2017, "Truth Hurts," became a viral sleeper hit when it was re-released as part of the deluxe version of Cuz I Love You, and it eventually topped the US Billboard Top 100.

"Truth Hurts" subsequently became the longest-leading solo song by a female rapper.

Her 2021 single "Rumors," featuring Cardi B, debuted in the top five of the Billboard Hot 100.

In addition to her music, the three-time Grammy Award winner is also an accomplished actor.

She was featured as a voice actor in the 2019 animated film UglyDolls, and she appeared in the crime comedy-drama film, Hustlers–co-starring, Constance Wu, Jennifer Lopez, Julia Stiles, Keke Palmer, and Lili Reinhart.

Lizzo has often touched on the social media effects on mental health.

In January 2020 after being a frequent target of bullying and body-shaming online, she announced she was leaving Twitter due to there being "too many trolls."

After all the incessant bullying during her meteoric ascent to stardom, Lizzo suggested she would make an assessment on whether or not to resume her Twitter activity in the future.

She tweeted:

"I'll be back when I feel like it."

Lizzo's management has since updated her Twitter account, but she remains active on other platforms such as Instagram and TikTok.
