Joe Rogan defended his buddy Chris Pratt during Tuesday's episode of his The Joe Rogan Experience podcast.

"Even Chris Pratt gets in trouble because he's Christian," said Rogan, commenting on the backlash the Guardians of the Galaxy actor endured from social media users bashing him for a number of grievances, including his political views and alleged support for an anti-LGBTQ+ church.

"Bro, he is the nicest f'king guy I've ever met in my life," Rogan said and added:

"They're all insane people that hate their jobs or sitting in front of the cubicle. When their boss isn't looking, they're tweeting bad things about Chris Pratt."

Rogan called the online skewering of Pratt "a bully pile on," adding:

"You see someone being vulnerable and you can snipe at them, and you don't have any repercussions and they're not in front of you, so you attack the guy."
"He hasn't done nothing. He's so nice."

Twitter disagreed with Rogan.

Pratt was recently under fire when he posted a birthday message for his wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger, and praised her for giving them a "gorgeous healthy daughter," Lyla, who turned 1 in August.

Many saw his post as a slam towards his ex-wife Anna Faris, with whom they share their 9-year-old son Jack–who was born premature and has struggled with numerous health problems.

The internet also dubbed him as the worst of the "Hollywood Chrises," after a Twitter challenge asked which of the famous actors named Chris "had to go" out of Chris Pratt, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Pine or Chris Evans.

Some people were conflicted and weighed in on the controversy.

Rogan said Pratt was "genuinely friendly" when recalling a trip in Utah where they went hunting elk.

"I've been in [a] hunting camp with him. He's nice to everybody, to the ladies that work in the kitchen."
"[He] sits at these cafeteria-style tables with everybody, you know, people from all walks of life. He's, like, super normal."
"And I've been around him multiple times like that. He's a super kind, super normal guy. He's fun, too. He's a fun guy to be around."

According to the comedian and UFC commentator, Pratt is:
"kind of outside the lines in terms of his ideology. He's a Christian. And pretty open about it. And because of that, they attack him."
"It's something so simple. Like, he just believes in Jesus and … he likes to be a good person. And they're like, 'F'k him!'"
Pratt is set to voice the character of Mario for an upcoming Nintendo animated film–which was another point of contention for many critics opposed to his casting choice.
The Mario movie is scheduled for release on December 21, 2022.
