With the passing of former President George H.W. Bush at the age of 94, many are reflecting on his life.

But some also reflected on his not so stellar contributions to society.

Although, many are praising the 41st President for his civility in comparison to the current President, not everyone is pulling out the hanky to dab their eyes. Many folks are not forgetting the damaging effects of his time in the Oval Office.

As much as Americans love a good patriotic tribute, it would be dangerous to rewrite history simply for the sake of a sweet story.

Folks have taken to Twitter to point out the more troubling aspects of Bush as a man and as a President.

Many criticized his involvement with the forming of the Carlyle Group.

There is also the matter of the eight women who came forward in light of the #MeToo movement.

And the great damage done to the African-American communities with the "War on Drugs" and the exploiting of Willie Horton.

Not being Trump does not make someone a saint. Let's not rewrite history for the sake of a few good moments on television.

It's no secret that MAGA Republican President Donald Trump hasn't been able to attract the cream of the crop when it comes to the entertainment industry.
