A Gay Couple Got Married At Courthouse Just Before Trump Arrived To Be Arrested In Chef's Kiss Moment

A gay couple's wedding day took an unexpected turn when they decided to tie the knot at the same New York courthouse where former Republican President Donald Trump was arraigned.

Daniel Arzuaga and Christopher Crawford had no idea their wedding day would coincide with Trump's legal drama. They had just left the clerk's office when news broke the former President's motorcade was about to arrive for his arrest.

As they made their way outside, they were greeted by protesters chanting “no one is above the law” and “we demand justice now”. NBC reporter Ben Collins captured the moment and shared it on Twitter.

Many congratulated the happy couple and noted the backdrop of the arraignment definitely made their day one to remember.

The couple had met a year ago and decided to get married on the anniversary of their meeting. They felt that their wedding day coinciding with Trump's arrest was symbolic. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Arzuaga said that marriage is "a legal contract" that they intended to "honor and abide" by. He said that they "made their promises" to each other that they "have to keep."

On Tuesday afternoon, Trump turned himself in at the Manhattan Criminal Court and was taken into custody.

He has been accused of committing 34 felony charges, which include the fabrication of business records to conceal a payment of $130,000 made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels in the last days of his 2016 presidential campaign, allegedly to keep her from revealing their alleged affair.

After his arraignment, Trump went on an extensive rant about various conspiracies and grievances.

He complained about what he perceives as the "onslaught of fraudulent investigations" unjustly directed towards him, including "Russia, Russia, Russia," the two impeachment "hoaxes," the mishandling of classified documents at his Florida resort which he now refers to as the "boxes hoax," and his "persecution" by New York Attorney General Letitia James.
