Stone, who has been friends with Swift for 'almost 20 years' called herself a 'dope' after joking that Swift was an 'a**hole' for applauding her after her Golden Globes win for 'Poor Things.'

Emma Stone revealed she learned her lesson after she called Taylor Swift an "a**hole."

Yes, she was joking, and also yes, the two have been friends for a very long time, but Stone definitely feels like a "dope" after the comment was blown out of proportion by multiple media outlets.

The Poor Things star made the joke after winning Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy at the Golden Globes back in January.

A reporter asked the actor about Swift's "huge applause" after Stone was announced as the winner.

Stone quipped:

“What an a**hole, am I right?”

She walked away from the mic but then returned, adding:

“No, I’ve known her for almost 20 years, and I was very happy she was there."
"And she was also nominated tonight, which was wonderful and, yes, what an a**hole.”

On Wednesday, Stone told Variety she regrets making the joke at all after it was taken out of context.

She explained:

“I definitely won’t make a joke like that again because I saw headlines that really pulled it out of context."

Stone then pointed at herself and added:

“What a dope.”

The actor actually met Swift when she was 18 at a Young Hollywood Awards.

She said the two "kept in touch ever since and became great friends.”

Regardless, Swifties appreciated the Oscar winner speaking out about the incident.

Many, however, felt the explanation was unnecessary.

Stephen Colbert Makes Somber Plea To Americans In Wake Of Charlie Kirk's Death

Late-night host Stephen Colbert had a somber message for Americans as he addressed the assassination of far-right activist Charlie Kirk, stressing that "political violence only leads to more political violence."

Kirk died after an unidentified gunman shot him in the neck as he—ironically enough—mocked victims of gun violence at an event in Utah Valley State University. Kirk's murder has galvanized the far-right, with President Donald Trump and his surrogates claiming without evidence that rhetoric from Democrats is responsible for Kirk's death.

TikToker Hilariously Calls Out Target After Champion Pants Feature Awkwardly-Placed Front Pleat

Sometimes you can just tell when something was designed *for* women, but was not actually designed *by* women.

Take, for instance, the new pleated pants available at Target from the Champion clothing line. While there's nothing wrong with pleated pants and they certainly have a suitable spot in the workplace, the latest rendition of Champion pleated pants are, shall we say, NSFW.

Woman Goes Viral After Revealing How Her Obsession With Matcha Landed Her In The Hospital

Let's be honest: Too much of anything isn't good for us. It's all about the balance!

But the media and social media trends have taught us that certain things are really good for us, encouraging us to be like the "very mindful and very demure" girls and take care of ourselves. One such example is drinking more matcha, especially if you really like coffee or think you have a caffeine addiction.
