Elon Musk Sparks Both Backlash And Mockery After Tweeting A Photo Of His Bedside Table

The new Twitter owner appears to have an affinity for both guns and caffeine-free Diet Coke.

Billionaire Elon Musk sparked both backlash and mockery after he tweeted a photo of his bedside table.

While most people tend to have things like a lamp or a glass of water or a phone charger atop their respective bedside tables, Musk appeared to be trolling Twitter with a rather random menagerie of items befitting a man with questionable social skills and morals.

The photo reveals that Musk apparently sleeps with a glass of water, several caffeine-free Diet Coke cans, a revolver, and a vintage American Revolutionary war gun next to him.

You can see Musk's tweet below.

Musk later commented on the noticeable rings left on his bedside table, saying "there is no excuse" for his decision to not use coasters for his Diet Cokes.

He also appeared to joke about the guns he keeps next to his bed, referring to himself as "Elon Musket."

But if Musk thought he was being funny, he was sorely mistaken.

People were quick to mock Twitter's new owner, indicating his collection of bedside items amounts to little more than nonsense.

Others noted that the guns on Musk's bedside table would be better placed not on his bedside table but in a safe in the interest of gun safety.

The photo Musk posted is only the latest example of the antics he's engaged in since acquiring Twitter, which has been embroiled in one crisis after another in the month since he took the reins.

Later, Musk took aim at Apple, which is one of several major companies that have decided to stop advertising on the social media platorm amid concerns about Musk's penchant for silencing his critics and spreading misinformation.

Musk claimed that Apple has threatened to “withhold” Twitter from the iOS App Store for unknown reasons. He later created a poll asking whether Apple should “publish all censorship actions it has taken that affect its customers" after complaining that Apple had decided to stop advertising on Twitter.

Apple has not responded to requests for comment.
