People Share The Worst Possible Ways To Die

Death comes for us all, but not in the same way. From torture to illness, our inevitable ends will find us eventually. The key is avoiding the really nasty ways of dying - like falling into a woodchipper, or drowning in mud in a World War I trench.

MiklosHorthy asked, Redditors, What do you think is the worst way to die?

Submissions have been edited for clarity, context, and profanity.

Dying during WWI in general was pretty horrific.

A lot of soldiers in WWI slowly drowned in mud. Id imagine that would be pretty bad.

It's easier than you think.

I read some kid got yanked into a woodchipper. The first responders needed therapy after that one.

notreallysrs

This is a terrible way to die.

That disease (which upon googling is apparently called Fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva) that slowly turns your muscle tissue into bone, essentially freezing your body into place, bit by bit, with your own bone tissue. Surgically removing it just makes it 'heal' back and grow even more. F*cking horrible.

What a crappy way to go out.

Ok so a bit of explanation for city folk. Large cattle farms often have a system for collecting the cow sh*t nto a very deep pool for storage so that they can use it to fertilize their lands for hay.

A few years ago in the dead of winter a drunken man was walking on a sh*t lagoon, for some reason, and the thin layer of ice cracked and he fell in and drowned. No one found his body until the spring when they emptied it.

A particularly cruel form of medieval torture used to extract confessions.

Ah yes, the Judas Cradle.

Sometimes the victims didn't die from the actual torture but from the infections. The Cradle was seldom, if ever, cleaned.

I don't want to die by fire, do u?

Giphy

ER RN here.

Fire.

I've seen people shot, stabbed, or bleeding until they died. I've seen asthmatics suffocate and those in anaphylaxis not respond to epi.

But goddamn it, nothing sticks with me like someone who's burned to death. Not only is it agonizingly painful, but your loved ones have to see you burned to a crisp, gasping for air.

F*ck burning to death.

Beatrix Kiddo escaped but she's the exception.

Buried alive.

Speaking of Kill Bill...

Giphy

A really pathetic way. Like dying from auto-erotic asphyxiation, or from sh*tting too hard. Or even dying from eating a salad.

Alzheimer's is terrifying.

Giphy

Alzheimer's. You don't know where you are or why you're there. (Whether you're at home, or in a nursing home.) You're going back in time, but not in a good Doctor Who sorta way. You don't know who the heck these people who claim to be your family are. Everything that makes you...well, you, is gone, or jumbled up somewhere inaccessible.

Trump Just Said The Quiet Part Out Loud About His Militarization Of U.S. Cities With Remark About 'Dictators'

President Donald Trump was criticized for a brazen claim that Americans would actually "like a dictator" before assuring reporters that he's not one in an attempt to justify his use of military troops as part of his nationwide crime crackdown that saw him most recently put boots on the ground in Washington, D.C.

Nancy Mace Blasted After Falsely Accusing Student With Umbrella Of Being Active School Shooter

South Carolina Republican Representative Nancy Mace was harshly criticized for not issuing an apology after spreading the image of an "active shooter" on the campus of the University of South Carolina in Columbia who turned out to be holding an umbrella.
