The first night of the Republican National Convention drew all sorts of responses, from astonishment to confusion to open mockery and laughter for its many bizarre moments. Suffice to say, the reviews haven't exactly been glowing!

And you can count CNN host Ana Navarro's dog among those panning the spectacle--especially Trump campaign fundraising vice chair and Donald Trump Jr.'s girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle, whose bizarrely over-the-top speech had the pooch running for cover.

Navarro talked about her pupper's reaction to the "crazy" speech CNN.

Navarro torches Kimberly Guilfoyle's 'crazy' RNC speech -- and says it terrified her dogyoutu.be

Navarro jokingly motioned unplugging her ears before dragging Guilfoyle's speech on behalf of her beloved doggo.

"I kid you not... My dog was underneath my bed because it was — you know, it came across as somewhat unhinged, crazy and incredibly loud."

But Navarro found far more to criticize about Guilfoyle's speech than just its volume.

Navarro was equally weirded out and dismayed by Guilfoyle's claim to be a "first-generation American," which she used as fodder to criticize the Democratic Party for its supposed "socialist agenda." In her speech, Guilfoyle said:

"As a first-generation American, I know how dangerous their socialist agenda is. My mother, Mercedes, was a special education teacher from Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. My father, also an immigrant, came to this nation in pursuit of the American dream. Now, I consider it my duty to fight to protect that dream."

While Guilfoyle's father immigrated from Ireland in the 1950's, her mother's birthplace of Puerto Rico has been part of the United States since 1917, and Puerto Ricans are U.S. citizens.

And Navarro was not about to let this part of Guilfoyle's speech slide any more than its mind-blowingly unnecessary volume.

"I think we all know Puerto Ricans are not immigrants to America! Puerto Ricans are American citizens from birth. She is a natural-born U.S. citizen."

On Twitter, most people were very much on Team Navarro's Dog.

And most shared Navarro's summation of the bizarre speech.

Navarro did at least include some constructive criticism in her comments: She suggested Guilfoyle switch to decaf. Solid advice!
