Democrats recently passed a trillion dollar bipartisan infrastructure bill, which President Joe Biden will soon sign into law, but that's only one part of their infrastructure agenda.

Congressional Democrats are still in negotiations on the Build Back Better Act, a $1.75 trillion (over 10 years) package that focuses on "soft" infrastructure like lowered prescription drug prices, affordable housing, funding to offset the climate crisis, and more.

The bill doesn't have any congressional Republican support, and it needs every single Democratic Senate vote in order to bypass the filibuster through the reconciliation process. Conservative Democrats like Senators Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona are currently stalling the bill's passage in the name of so-called fiscal responsibility.

Meanwhile, congressional Republicans are working overtime to smear the legislation, which will raise taxes on the wealthy in order to fund universal pre-k, medicare expansion, and child tax credits to everyday Americans.

Republican Congressman Chris Stewart (R-UT) was the most recent conservative to slam the bill in public, but his all-too-familiar attempt to paint it as a socialist takeover ended up promoting the bill instead.

Stewart laid out the so-called "socialist laundry list" of Build Back Better, which included such atrocities as "Affordable housing," "Worker training and higher education," "In-home care access," and more.

Apparently conservatives think these things are bad?

People preferred their tax dollars going toward this "laundry list" over going to corporate subsidies.

Maybe Stewart should find a new opposition strategy.

Trump Just Mocked Texas AG Ken Paxton's Looks And Speaking Abilities While Championing Him—And It's Awkward AF

Despite throwing his support behind Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in his race to be a U.S. senator, President Donald Trump nonetheless insulted Paxton's fashion sense and public speaking abilities in a bizarre and freewheeling speech.

Trump was addressing a group of swing-district Republican lawmakers at a dinner at the White House Rose Garden when he reiterated his support for the scandal-ridden Paxton. However, he also seemed to suggest that Paxton isn't a likable candidate even while praising his performance leading the attorney general's office.

The stereotype of the weeping mother unable to cope with her children beginning preschool, or kindergarten, or graduating from high school, or going off to college was shattered by former First Lady Michelle Obama during a recent appearance by Jon Stewart on her IMO (In My Opinion) with Michelle Obama & Craig Robinson podcast.

While pop culture has reinforced the trope of empty nester moms unable to cope when their children gain independence, the former FLOTUS told Stewart she feels free now that her daughters Malia and Sasha Obama, now 28 and 25 years old respectively, have moved out on their own.
