After Donald Trump compared himself to Nelson Mandela, Jasmine Harris with the Biden-Harris campaign called Trump out.

The Biden campaign quickly shut down former President Donald Trump's delusions of grandeur after he compared himself to the late South African anti-apartheid activist and politician Nelson Mandela, who served 27 years in prison for his activism, became the first president of South Africa, and is regarded as an icon of democracy and social justice.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump targeted Judge Juan Merchan, who is presiding over his New York hush money case. Trump expressed defiance against a gag order imposed by Merchan, stating that he would consider it a "GREAT HONOR" to go to jail for violating the order during the upcoming trial.

Trump's rhetoric escalated as he proclaimed:

“If this Partisan Hack wants to put me in the ‘clink’ for speaking the open and obvious TRUTH, I will gladly become a Modern Day Nelson Mandela — It will be my GREAT HONOR."

Trump further asserted his willingness to sacrifice his freedom to combat what he perceives as political persecution by prosecutors and judges:

"We have to Save our Country from these Political Operatives masquerading as Prosecutors and Judges, and I am willing to sacrifice my Freedom for that worthy cause. We are a Failing Nation, but on November 5th, we will become a Great Nation again."
"MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"

Shortly afterward, Jasmine Harris, the Biden campaign's Director of Black Media, released the following statement criticizing Trump's persecution complex:

"Imagine being so self-centered that you compare yourself to Jesus Christ and Nelson Mandela all within the span of little more than a week: that's Donald Trump for you."

You can see the statement below.

This is not the first time Trump has drawn parallels between himself and Mandela, who famously endured decades in prison for his anti-apartheid activism. In a speech to a New Hampshire crowd last October, Trump expressed a sentiment of martyrdom, stating that he wouldn't "mind being Nelson Mandela" while portraying himself as a victim of political persecution.

And, as Harris pointed out, Trump's declaration comes barely two weeks after he shared a message from a Christian supporter who compared him to Jesus Christ.

The supporter's message likened Trump's legal battles to the persecution faced by Jesus during his crucifixion and resurrection, sentiments that prompted Trump to write that the message was "Beautiful, thank you!" The supporter's message also quoted Psalm 109:3-8, which references those who've "surrounded me with words of hatred, and fought against me without cause."

Trump's decision to draw a comparison between himself and one of the most famous civil rights leaders in modern history exposed him to immediate criticism.

Trump and his children have faced blowback in recent weeks for his repeated attacks against Merchan, which became more amplified in the right-wing media ecosystem due to a recent article from Breitbart, a conservative site was co-founded by his ex-White House chief strategist Steve Bannon.

According to the article Trump shared on Truth Social, the judge's daughter was employed by Kamala Harris' campaign during the 2019 presidential primaries and managed a digital agency that conducts campaigns for progressive candidates, including the Biden-Harris campaign.

Trump's elder son, Donald Trump Jr., used this information to allege Merchan’s corruption and bias, sharing a news story about the connection and declaring that the charges against his father are part of a "hand picked democrat show trial."

These actions have highlighted the Trump family's trend of using intimidation tactics to avoid accountability for their actions, what many continue to perceive as alarming developments that threatens the rule of law and our democracy as a whole.

After President Donald Trump lashed out at late-night host Seth Meyers on Truth Social over the weekend and called him a "truly deranged lunatic," Meyers responded to Trump’s “ranting and raving” about him with a damning supercut on his program.

Trump apparently tuned in to Thursday night’s episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers, where Meyers poked fun at the president’s complaints about Navy aircraft carriers using electromagnetic catapults instead of traditional steam-powered ones. Meyers joked that Trump "spends more time thinking about catapults than Wile E. Coyote."

Girl's Hilarious Reaction To Getting Divisive Candy For Halloween Caught On Doorbell Cam

In the '80s and '90s, kids were raised with the understanding that they got what they got, and they should say, "Thank you," for what they received. This was true for birthdays, holidays, and trick-or-treating on Halloween, even if they got candy they wanted to throw away the instant they turned the corner.

But kids today are much more communicative about what they like and don't like, and they can be brutal in their bluntness.

MTG Just Admitted The Awkward Truth About The Republican Healthcare Plan On 'The View'

Speaking on The View, Georgia Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene spoke about sparring with House Speaker Mike Johnson over healthcare—and revealed that the GOP does not have any replacement for the Affordable Care Act (ACA) despite what Johnson and her fellow congressional conservatives tell the public.

Democrats have continued to reject Republicans’ proposed continuing resolution to keep the government open without considering an extension of the premium tax credit that helps subsidize health insurance for people earning between 100% and 400% of the federal poverty level.

People Share The Best Ways To Shut Down A Debate With A Flat Earther Family Member

The Flat Earth conspiracy theory is strictly a modern online movement, rumored to have begun as a prank, that gained momentum among people who mistrust authority through the power of social media.

There is a persistent myth that Europeans in the Middle Ages believed the Earth was flat. But that is a 19th-century fabrication to sell Columbus Day, not historical reality.
