AOC Bluntly Fact-Checks MAGA Account That Claims She's Worth $30 Million

After a MAGA X account accused Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of being worth $30 million due to "kickbacks," she clapped back hard.

New York Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez bluntly fact-checked a MAGA X account that claimed she's worth $30 million due to "kickbacks."

Referencing President Donald Trump's efforts to dismantle the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), MAGA influencer Mila Joy claimed without evidence that Ocasio-Cortez has made tens of millions of dollars off an agency the Trump administration has labeled "wasteful."

Joy wrote:

"Trump called for an investigation to find out who in the government has been getting kickbacks from USAID. For instance, [Ocasio-Cortez] has been in Congress for six years. She makes $174K/yr. She is worth $30 MIL."
"The ONLY way that happens is kickbacks."

An X Community Note points out that Ocasio-Cortez is not worth $30 million, linking to her financial disclosure that shows she has funds spread across banking and brokerage accounts and a significant amount in student loans—a far cry from what Joy claims.

You can see her post below.

Before being elected to the House of Representatives in 2019, Ocasio-Cortez worked as a bartender and server. As a member of Congress, she earns the standard salary of $174,000 per year.

Her most recent financial disclosure showed she had no more than $46,000 across her various accounts, including checking, savings, brokerage, and a 401(k), while carrying student loan debt between $15,000 and $50,000.

Forbes estimated her net worth last year at approximately $125,000, with the majority of her assets held in a Thrift Savings Plan—a retirement investment account for government employees that is not required to be fully disclosed.

Ocasio-Cortez soon shot back with a blunt fact-check:

"You are completely making things up. I am not even worth $1 million. Or a half million. I am one of the lowest net worth members of Congress, trade no individual stock, and take no outside income."
"These filings are public. I loathe corruption, and your lying is reprehensible."

She also posted the truth about her net worth on her website.

You can see her response below.

Many appreciated her response and criticized Joy.

The lies about Ocasio-Cortez come as the Trump administration moves to shut down USAID, which has provided humanitarian aid and promoted democracy around the world for more than 60 years. The agency has been a focal point of a government reorganization effort led by billionaire Elon Musk since Trump took office on January 20.

Just four days after Trump's inauguration, Musk’s top aides at the Treasury Department instructed its acting secretary, a career civil servant, to immediately halt all USAID payments through the department’s highly sensitive payment processing system.

At the same time, the Trump administration is moving to drastically downsize USAID, cutting its workforce from over 10,000 to just 290 positions.

The Trump administration, often via Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the agency’s acting administrator, has alleged without evidence that Democrats and other bad actors have profited off billions in USAID funding.

Robots labeled 'Star Wars' slur

Artificial Intelligence and robots can thank the droids from Star Wars for the internet-appropriated slur “clanker,” which has been used to insult real-world technology as automation slowly creeps into and takes over daily life.

According to Wookieepedia (yeah, I went there), the word “clanker” was first used as a slang term because the joints of the droids would, well, clank against their metal bodies.

'South Park' Epically Skewered Trump And Paramount In Their Season Premiere—And We're Grabbing The Popcorn

After two years, season 27 of South Park premiered on Wednesday and featured more of MAGA Republican President Donald Trump than most people ever want to see. The 79-year-old POTUS, his attempts to dodge his promise to release the Epstein files, and his frivolous lawsuits—as well as the parties that pay him off—were skewered by creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone.

Longtime fans of the show will be disappointed to learn Satan—yes, King of Hell Satan—has gone back to another man who's no good for him. Satan left Saddam Hussein—an abusive and manipulative partner—with the help of Kenny in the movie South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut. After his relationship with gentle, caring Chris ended, Satan has gone back to another narcissistic liar—Donald Trump.
