A woman in Australia walked into a wildfire to save Lewis, a badly burnt koala. Lewis was given water and wrapped in a blanket after being found on a road in the New South Wales state town of Wauchope.

Koala hero and rescuer Toni Doherty told Network Nine it was her “natural instinct" to rescue the koala from the fire.

She said she “immediately thought just get to him, put the fire out."

The 14-year-old animal was taken to the nearby Port Macquarie Koala Hospital for treatment for severe burns to his feet, chest and stomach.

People all over the world are showing their support for this woman.

Many are concerned for her wellbeing.

Others are worried about the situation.

It was truly a selfless act.

Even Smokey the bear gave her a shout out.

“She is an absolute legend for capturing this male koala who was so disorientated by the flames and unfortunately was burnt further as he headed back into active fire," the hospital commented on its Facebook page. “He has been treated and is now in the five-star accommodation at the Koala Hospital."

As wildfires in South Australia and New South Wales spread they have prompted fire officials to issue emergency warnings.

Stay safe out there!

MAGA Rep. Ripped For Changing Story About Why He Sleeps In His DC Office To Fit Trump Agenda

Tennessee Republican Representative Tim Burchett was criticized for claiming that he "lives" in his office because of crime in Washington, D.C., even though he gave a completely different reason earlier this year to explain how he maintains productivity.

Burchett's remarks came as President Donald Trump federalized the Metropolitan Police and deployed about 800 National Guard troops to the nation’s capital this week while claiming crime in D.C. is "out of control" despite falling crime rates.

Sorbo gripes about Vikings cheerleaders

American actor and sudden cheerleading morality police Kevin Sorbo appeared to spontaneously combust online when the Minnesota Vikings announced the addition of two male cheerleaders to their 2025 squad.

Born in Mound, Minnesota, Sorbo has long cultivated his brand of brawny, bicep-flexing alpha male heroics—playing Hercules in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Captain Dylan Hunt in Andromeda, and starring in the 2008 parody Meet the Spartans, where he famously shared an on-screen kiss with Sean Maguire’s King Leonidas.
