Salt Bae Leaves Internet Stunned After Showing Off Customer's $108k Restaurant Bill

People couldn't believe how much money people were willing to spend at the Dubai restaurant owned by Nusret Gökçe, AKA Salt Bae.

Internet sensation and chef Nusret Gökçe, best known as Salt Bae, has left the internet in shock after sharing a patron's receipt from a meal at one of his restaurants.

The check, racked up at his Nusr-Et Steakhouse Dubai at the Four Seasons resort in Dubai, costs more than some people's homes: a staggering $108,000.

People online have been astonished by the bill—and not in the good way.

Along with the caption "money comes money goes," Salt Bae showed a photo of the customers' receipt, which showed seemingly gazillions of items at truly astonishing prices.

There's a $270 filet mignon, three $1700 steaks and two bottles of champagne at $27,000 each, just for starters.

There were also nearly $25,000 in tips included, so at least whatever person with more money than sense who racked up this bill had it in them to take care of the staff.

But while Salt Bae, ever the showman, seemed to think the receipt would leave people impressed, it seems to have had the opposite effect.

People on social media were instead kind of disgusted by the absurd wealth and consumerism the receipt reflects.

Though some people couldn't help but respect Salt Bae's hustle.

But others pointed out another layer to the story: Salt Bae's food is pretty widely known to be... well, not very good.

His restaurant empire has been plagued with financial problems, and some of his restaurants have faced closures, including his infamous New York burger restaurant once deemed "the worst restaurant in New York."

There's no better place than Dubai to get the more-money-than-sense crowd to part with their gazillions. Let it never be said that Salt Bae isn't resourceful!

Idaho Bar Ripped After Organizing 'Hetero Awesome Fest' During Pride Month

An Idaho bar is drawing criticism after announcing it will be hosting a "Hetero Awesome Festival" (is that really the BEST name you could come up with? Maybe workshop it a bit more...) in response to LGBTQ+ Pride Month.

The grown adults who run Old State Saloon in the Boise suburb of Eagle are convinced that "traditional family values" are under assault because of Pride, so they will be holding their event on June 20 and 21 outside Idaho's state Capitol, to coincide with Pride celebrations.
