Reddit user SiaRayLawson asked: 'What do you get the most compliments about?'

We know some of our strengths can go unnoticed, but when someone acknowledges them as a compliment, it's an affirmation that can brighten our day.

Sometimes we possess positive attributes we're not necessarily conscious of, and it's not until a friend or work colleague recognizes them that makes us feel extra special.

Curious to hear examples of how people felt seen or made to feel better about themselves, Redditor SiaRayLawson asked:

"What do you get the most compliments about?"

Being humble is classy.

Smart Perception

"That I am intelligent, but in reality, I am dumb as a door. I am trying to keep the facade."

– the_welp

"You must be an Einstein level genius, because the idiots of the world think they are the intelligent ones."

– Dre4mGl1tch

"As a software developer, I get that a lot."

"Oh you're a software developer? Wow, you must be really smart! I could never do that!"

"No, I'm dumb as nails. I just know a lot about one topic...compared to the average Joe. Compared to other developers, I'm not that smart either, so I really can't win. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯"

– SpicymeLLoN

"Fake it till you make it = my motto."

– ThugBunnyy

"My humility. I’m a very humble person and people can’t stop talking about it. I’m probably the humblest person you’ve ever met…except that most of you have never had the pleasure of meeting me. 😏"

– strangerx2

Sense Of Humor Goes A Long Way

"Being funny and having nice skin and my teeth."

– Powerful_Elk7253

Everyone is blessed with that one thing.

Excellent Assets

"My Excel skills. I am a freak in the sheets."

– Hoover889

"My voice. I've been told multiple times by many different people that I have a radio or TV voice."

"Too bad I stutter like a sumb*tch."

– EvilDarkCow

"I'm a small town radio announcer. I've interviewed a lot of people, almost all of them nervous about being on the radio."

"I'm frequently told I'm good at getting them to relax and have fun with it. "Like a kindly dentist," was how one put it."

"So, yeah. If you ever need a public speaking coach, I guess I'm your guy."

– originalchaosinabox

Flashing Those Pearly Whites

"I've gotten a lot of compliments about my smile. I tend to smile when i talk. I don't know why I do that. It's my positive demeanor I guess. I'm also a guy."

– Kyhunsheo

"My dimples when I smile 😁"

– chrisalanw0111

"My straight teeth. I had metal in my mouth for 6 years as a kid. They better be damn straight."

– Fun_Flamingo_4238

Social Grace

"How talkative I am. Unsure if it’s a bad thing but people seem to like it :)"

– 7rincesslovestea

Prized Problem Solver

"My talent in building modifying or figuring out how just about anything works. People compliment me about it all the time. People say they wish they could do the things I can do. I tell them it can be a blessing and a curse... and much of the time it feels more like a curse."

"Consequently, it results in me having zero time to do anything recreationally because my wife's honeydo list for me is pretty long. She tried hiring people to do some sh*t before when she got frustrated that I had too much to do and she needed these other low priority things done."

"They looked like sh*t and I still had to redo them... so she won't hire people anymore and has grown patient."

– 007baldy

Keen Perception

"I’m intelligent about psychological motivations. It just comes easily to me to 'get' why people behave as they do. Combining their childhood experiences with their particular personality traits and putting them in my mental blender seems to yield observations that almost spook people."

"Fortunately, this skill made me a good mother and director of victim services in my local prosecutor’s office. Unfortunately, it did not hold when it came to romantic entanglements."

– Extension_Many4418

LOL

"My laugh, apparently it’s contagious 😅"

– Juicy_Tits006

If you got it flaunt it.

Flowy Locks

Affable

"Personality wise I get that I'm kind, understanding and funny."

"I get 'cute' about my face. I'm not confident about my body, so I wear baggy clothes, but I shared anonymous pictures on Reddit on another account this week and people REALLY liked my hands."

"I was genuinely blushing over some of the comments 😅🙈"

– SurvivingWow

"I’d say my sense of humor! 😄 People always laugh at my jokes, and it feels good to make others smile and have fun."

– naughtyannika

I've gotten compliments on my hair the most. I've always been hirsute from an early age, but I have to say, my full, thick head of black hair has always been something people have noticed.

Which is funny because my parents can't stand what I do with it. I think I do a pretty decent job styling it, which is probably the main reason why it gets noticed. But my family thinks I look like I'm trying to rock an Elvis-style pompadour, which I'm so not trying to accomplish with my hair-sculpting efforts.
