NYC Just Held A Pedro Pascal Lookalike Competition—And The Winner Could Be His Clone

A restaurant in NYC's Lower East Side held a Pedro Pascal lookalike contest over the weekend, and people can't believe the winner isn't actually Pascal.

A New York man has won one of the most distinguished honors a lot of people can even think of: Best Pedro Pascal Lookalike.

A lookalike contest was held on the New York City's Lower East Side on Father's Day to find the best secondhand Pascal in town, and let's just say the guy who won definitely earned his title.

The winner, George Gountas, looks so much like Pascal that people online can't believe he's not actually Pascal.

@ninattal

this has been my favorite weekend activity

The contest, held in honor of Mexican restaurant Son Del Norte's first anniversary, drew tons of spectators despite the rain that fell on the event.

But weather was no match for the Internet's "favorite daddy"—or his doppelganger, anyway.

Gountas, who works on The Daily Show, said his wife and colleagues urged him to enter the contest because of his uncanny Pascal-esque looks.

He said at the event:

"So I shaved the mustache, got dressed up and here I am."

Gountas' big win hit even harder since he hasn't been on social media in years and has missed most of the Pascal fever.

“I’ve been off of all social media for like seven years."
"I’ve been told I don’t exist, but now I guess I do because I’m the Pedro Pascal lookalike winner.”

Gountas was up against 26 competitors, but in the end it was no contest. He took home the $50 prize and, of course, bragging rights.

And the internet is basically unanimous that the right guy won, especially once photos and videos of the contest landed online.

After his big win, Gountas thanked everyone who made his newfound career as a Pascal double possible.

"This is a big shoutout to everyone at 'The Daily Show' who made me come do this. And to my wife and my neighbor Stephanie who helped me with the clothes."
"And my kids, who are putting up with me doing all this before I take her to her dance recital."

And lest you think $50 isn't reward enough, Gountas also won a year's worth of free burritos from the restaurant hosting the contest. Now THAT'S a win.

Trump's Dismissive Reaction To Concerns About Insider Trading Amid His War With Iran Speaks Infuriating Volumes

In an article for CounterPunch titled "Trump’s Casino Royale: The Iran War," Matthew Stevenson wrote:

"Given that Donald Trump conceives of the presidency as a casino—why else would he be trying to makeover the White House to look like the Bellagio?—it makes sense that his administration has turned the war with Iran into an insider-trading scheme."
"It used to be that wars were fought to make 'the world safe for democracy' or 'to end all wars' (a World War I expression), but now wars are fought so that Trump insiders can get rich quick in prediction markets or to help the president’s family (and its remittance men) corner the Persian Gulf oil market."

Pointing out who is profiting off inflating oil prices and creating false scarcity, Stevenson added:
