'Daily Show' Host Jordan Klepper Epically Zings Fox News Over Bret Baier's Bizarre Food Choice In China
May 18, 2026
The Daily Show host Jordan Klepper had social media users cackling after roasting Fox News anchor Bret Baier for getting a sausage at a market in China while he was there covering President Donald Trump's recent trip.
Baier, who was in Beijing covering Donald Trump’s summit with Chinese leader Xi Jinping, highlighted technological innovations during one segment by interacting with a robot at a mini-mart.
“Hello, can I get a sausage, please?” Baier asked the machine in the clip, to Klepper's amusement and disbelief.
Klepper said:
“A sausage? You went to China, home of one of the famed cuisines in the world, and ordered a convenience store sausage? Bret, you’re making us look weird in front of our future overlords.”
“Although it could be worse. Usually when someone at Fox News asks someone to grab their sausage, it comes with a $10 million lawsuit.”
The segment then displayed a magazine cover featuring the late Roger Ailes, who resigned from Fox News in 2016 after being sued for sexual misconduct by former host Gretchen Carlson and accused by roughly 20 other women. Ailes died the following year.
Klepper's remark also referenced another major scandal at Fox News involving former host Bill O'Reilly, who left the network in 2017 after reports revealed that he and the company had quietly paid millions of dollars to settle sexual harassment allegations brought by female colleagues.
Klepper then quipped:
"By the way, look at that robot just standing there in the back. I love that even in our tech future there's still one guy at work who does absolutely nothing."

Meanwhile, Xi Jinping and Russian leader Vladimir Putin exchanged what Chinese state media described as “congratulatory letters” ahead of Putin’s upcoming visit to Beijing, just days after Trump departed the country.
According to state media, Xi said cooperation between China and Russia had “continuously deepened and solidified,” noting that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the nations’ strategic partnership.
Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov told reporters that Putin is expected to arrive Tuesday evening and meet Xi on Wednesday, with discussions set to cover a wide range of bilateral issues, including the proposed Power of Siberia 2 gas pipeline.

John Stamos Shares The Last Photo He Took With Bob Saget To Mark His Late Costar's 70th Birthday In Poignant Post
May 18, 2026
John Stamos and Bob Saget became incredibly close while filming Full House as Uncle Jesse and dad-of-three Danny Tanner, and Stamos continues to celebrate Saget's birthday after his death in 2022 at the age of 65.
At the time, Stamos delivered a touching eulogy among family and friends, saying:
"When we started 'Full House,' I was in my 20s and didn't have a care in the world. H**l, my backyard was Disneyland."
"But life does what it does, and when things came crashing down, the last person on Earth I ever imagined would be my rock became just that."
"When I lost my parents, Bob was there for me like no other. He told dirty jokes and talked about himself as he hosted my dad's funeral."
"He was there through divorces, deaths, despair, and dark days. He was there through love, marriage, a child, and bright times. He was my lifeline."
As it turned out, Saget wasn't just a lifeline for Stamos; he also threw him incredible birthday parties, and Stamos was sure to do the same in return. Complete with close friends and family, good food, and even better live music, every birthday night was a night to remember.
On what would have been Saget's 70th birthday, Stamos shared an Instagram post, complete with a short video from one of their birthday celebrations together and a collection of photos taken throughout the years, including the very last photo Stamos took with Saget.

"Your 70th today would've been epic!"
"I miss you and I love you."

Fans shared in the celebration and wished Saget a happy 70th in the beyond.

Bob Saget might not be with us in person any longer, but his memory and his characters, especially Danny Tanner, live on, bring smiles to our faces, and bring us comfort.
What's more important, though, is that the people who loved him continue to share his stories, his photographs, and his videos, allowing his memory to live on for generations to come.

Dem Rep. Brings The Receipts After Eric Trump Denies His Dad Bought Millions In Nvidia Stock Before China Tripm
May 18, 2026
After Massachusetts Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren called out President Donald Trump for buying millions in Nvidia stock prior to bringing the CEO of the company with him on his recent trip to China, Eric Trump was shut down after claiming his family's assets are invested in a "blind trust."
Last week, the Office of Government Ethics (OGE) released a disclosure showing thousands of individual stock purchases by Trump during the first quarter of 2026, drawing criticism from Warren on social media.
Warren specifically raised concerns about investments tied to Nvidia following Trump’s recent trip to China alongside several major tech executives, including Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, writing the following on X:
"Trump brought the NVIDIA CEO on his trip to China to lobby Xi Jinping to buy advanced AI chips, even though it would create a U.S. national security threat. It turns out Trump also bought millions in NVIDIA's stock. The President's corruption is a national security disaster."
You can see her post below.
Afterward, Eric Trump followed up with a claim that the Trump family's assets "are invested in a blind trust by the largest financial institutions in broad market indexes":
"All of our assets are invested in a blind trust by the largest financial institutions in broad market indexes. To suggest that individual stocks are being bought or sold, at the discretion of any member of the Trump family, would be a lie and blatantly false."
"Using a silly example, if you buy the 'Schwab 1000,' you will get some exposure to Nvidia - as well as a 1,000 other U.S. companies large- and mid-cap stocks. It’s completely disingenuous to represent anything to the contrary. Please be better than this…"
You can see his post below.
But this claim soon caught the attention of Virginia Democratic Representative Don Beyer, who shut it down immediately:
"Outright lies. Trump's assets aren't in a blind trust, and he bought and sold individual Nvidia stock in 15 separate transactions totaling millions of dollars. That's what Trump's financial disclosure - which has his signature - says. See for yourself."
Beyer's post linked to a financial disclosure form showing that Trump purchased as much as $1 million worth of stock in Nvidia earlier this year, just days before the company received approval to resume sales of advanced computer chips to China. The 113-page disclosure details 2,345 purchases, primarily individual stocks, alongside 1,296 sales.
You can see his post below.
Eric Trump was swiftly criticized.
According to a report published in Fortune, Trump is the first president since Lyndon B. Johnson known to actively trade individual securities while in office. Every president since Johnson had reportedly placed their assets into blind trusts overseen by independent trustees.
During his first term, Trump said his holdings were managed through such a structure, though former OGE director Walter Shaub resigned in 2017 and argued the arrangement was “not even halfway blind." The White House, however, has maintained that “there are no conflicts of interest.”

'Ted Lasso' Star Speaks Out With Important Reminder After Signing With Professional Soccer Team—And We're Cheering
May 18, 2026
Cristo Fernández quickly became a fan favorite as soccer-loving Dani Rojas on sports comedy show Ted Lasso.
The show followed American football coach Ted Lasso, who was hired to turn around a struggling and quirky English soccer team, and ultimately won over the hearts of their club, their city, and their sport. One of his key players, Dani Rojas, was loved for his enthusiasm, talent, and mantra "Football is life!"
As it turns out, this is one of those rare instances where life imitates art, as the actor behind the character, Cristo Fernández, always had a dream of playing soccer at the professional level.
- YouTubeyoutu.be
After drawing attention with his performance on the show, Fernández has been signed by El Paso Locomotive FC. He completed a two-month trial period before being inducted officially.
The former Ted Lasso star logged 30 minutes on the field during a pre-season scrimmage against New Mexico United, and he's since regularly been on the field during the USL Championship season.
Since he's achieved his dreams as an actor and now a football player, Cristo Fernández has a special message for his fans.
“Fútbol has always been a huge part of my life and identity, and no matter where life has taken me, the dream of competing professionally never truly left my heart."
"I’m incredibly grateful to El Paso Locomotive FC, the club, coaches, staff, and especially my teammates, for opening the doors, and giving me the opportunity to compete from day one.”
“I just want to tell the story that it is never too late to accomplish your dreams. There are very crazy dreams, and I consider myself a crazy man, so that’s why it makes sense to be here with the Locos, here in El Paso.”
Fernández continued:
“This journey back to professional fútbol soccer is about believing in yourself, taking risks, and continuing to chase your dreams no matter how unexpected the path may be."
"Because as we say in Mexico: hay que seguirle echando ganas (let’s keep giving it our all)."
"Siempre agradecido con Dios, mi familia y amistades por creer en mí (I'm always grateful to God, my family, and my friends for believing in me)."
"Maybe I’m just a crazy man with crazy dreams… so being here with the “Locos” actually makes perfect sense. ¡Vamos Locos!”
Fans cheered for Fernández's success in doing what he loves—twice!
This is such a wonderful example of following your dreams, even when they feel too big or the path feels too long or crazy. You never know what doors could open for you along the way.
After all, for Fernández, saying, "Football is life!" on a TV show was what he needed to get back on the field!

Emilia Clarke Describes Being Woken Up Mid-Surgery By Doctors To Get Consent To Open Her Skull After Procedure Went Very 'Wrong'
May 18, 2026
Emilia Clarke earned worldwide fame for her iconic performance as Daenerys Targaryen on the smash hit HBO series Game of Thrones. In one of the most notoriously violent shows to ever air on television, Clark's character would frequently find herself in one dangerous situation after another until she met (SPOILERS) her shocking demise in the series finale, "The Iron Throne."
Nothing seen on Game of Thrones, however, can compare with an actual near-death experience Clarke experienced, which she recently discussed on the podcast How To Fail with Elizabeth Day:
- YouTubeyoutu.be
Clarke openly disclosed that one of the "failures" she has endured was her failure to fully recover from not one, but two brain aneurysms.
Upon wrapping the first season of Game of Thrones, Clarke suffered her first "brain hemorrhage" while doing a plank in the gym.
Shockingly, Clarke's main concern after the terrifying experience was not making her health a priority, but rather ensuring she didn't lose her career-making job:
"...[I] spent the next two weeks with my agent trying to not tell HBO until they knew I wouldn’t die”.
During these two weeks, Clarke was examined by countless doctors at multiple hospitals, all the while concerned that it would delay her return to the Game of Thrones set.
A month or so later, Clarke was on the press tour for the first season of GoT, on "a bit of morphine," and still hiding her medical condition.
"I was so ashamed that this thing had happened, and that the people who had employed me might see me as weak, or see me as something that could be broken."
"I was so young and so unassuming that any repercussions of the injury I just absolutely ignored, and tried my best to pretend like it didn't happen in order to get back to work."
When filming commenced on season two of Game Of Thrones, Clarke still didn't tell a "single soul" about her injury, with the exception of showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.
Two years later, after appearing on Broadway in a critically panned stage adaptation of Breakfast at Tiffany's, Clarke thought she was "doing really well" healthwise.
But with her Screen Actors Guild insurance soon to run out, she needed to get another brain scan, which she had been doing every six months since her first scan.
After this scan, Clarke was told that what was initially described as a "mirror aneurysm" had grown three sizes in the last six months.
While the doctors initially said this would be a routine procedure, Clarke confessed she knew deep down all was not well.
"I remember counting down with the anesthetic, and I had just a terrible feeling."
Unfortunately, Clarke's fears proved to be well-founded.
"The next thing I remember is them waking me up, and having that pain all over again, because they went 'it went wrong, we have to crack your head open, and we have to have your permission.'"
"And then, all I remember is lying on the gurney and i could see my mum and dad over there, and i can just remember my mum's head nodding going 'say yes.'"
While Clarke has no specific memories of the immediate aftermath of this emergency surgery, her parents later reported to her that the doctors, who came to check on her status every half-hour or so, warned her parents that blindness, paralysis, and even death were all more than likely possibilities.
However, Clarke's mother was confident that she would pull through and come out stronger.
"Every half hour, they were just trying to figure out what parts of my brain were going and how they were trying to save me, and my mum says that she felt a bright light, and she knew that everything was going to be OK."
"And then they came down and said, 'she's fine', so that's pretty wild."
Viewers of the interview on X (formerly Twitter) were in awe of Clarke's ability to talk so openly about such a harrowing experience that could have easily taken her life, prompting others to share their own similar experiences:
Clarke openly admitted, however, that surviving the experience made her feel anything but stronger, admitting that even a minor headache sparks the "fear of death" in her, and the vulnerability of the experience continues to follow her.
She explained:
“It just cuts you off from being able to engage with the outside world, because you’re walking around knowing that your body has failed you, your brain has failed you."
“This thing that you know to be where yourself, your perception of yourself lies, has failed you, and no one else can see it so you become very sensitive”.
Even so, Clarke has made impressive strides in helping other survivors of strokes and brain injuries know that they are not alone by launching the charity SameYou, which strives to "develop better mental health treatments" for the aforementioned survivors.
