Fox News Host Just Accidentally Proposed Elizabeth Warren's Plan to Eliminate Student Loan Debt Without Even Realizing
Fox News

He walked right into that one.

Students of this year's graduating class of Morehouse College got the surprise of their lives recently when billionaire commencement speaker Robert F. Smith announced that he would be paying off the student loan debt of every Morehouse graduate of 2019.

While the gesture was undoubtedly generous, it speaks to the vast problem of inflated student loans across the country, pinning many graduates in debt before they've had a chance to build their careers.

Conservative Fox News host Jesse Watters offered a solution to the problem, and it involves more generous billionaires.

Watch below:

"Why don't we just get a bunch of billionaires, you know like Bezos, Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, maybe they can pony up a few billion to clear the student loan debt."

Interestingly enough, that's exactly what 2020 presidential contender and Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) has proposed.

Warren's plan would forgive $50,000 of student loan debt for most American families, and it would be paid for by a wealth tax, which includes a 3% tax on billionaires.

Twitter was quick to roast Watters, who recently accused Warren and other Democratic presidential candidates of "shunning billionaires."

Some tried to defend him and the argument swiftly fell apart.

What an epic self-burn.

MAGA Influencer Charlie Kirk Called Out After Blaming DEI For High Death Toll In Texas Flooding Disaster

Turning Point USA founder and MAGA influencer Charlie Kirk was harshly criticized after he claimed the death toll in the flash floods that have devastated central Texas "would not have been as high if it wasn't for DEI," ridiculously suggesting that principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion were responsible.

Kirk's comments are reflective of President Donald Trump’s broader push to dismantle federal programs focused on diversity and inclusion—part of what he pledged in his inaugural address would be a campaign to stop attempts to “socially engineer race and gender into every aspect of public and private life.”
