This should be interesting.

As the field of Democratic candidates seeking the 2020 Presidential nomination to run against President Donald Trump is growing more and more crowded.

But one question that has remained is whether or not a Republican would challenge incumbent Donald Trump for the Republican nomination.

We now have the answer.

Former Massachusetts Governor, Republican Bill Webb announced an exploratory committee for President on Monday, saying:

“It is time for patriotic men and women across our great nation to stand and plant a flag. It is time to return to the principles of Lincoln – equality, dignity, and opportunity for all.  There is no greater cause on earth than to preserve what truly makes America great. I am ready to lead that fight."

Though Americans everywhere would likely be relieved if Trump were to be ousted before the general election, Weld's odds of clenching the nomination aren't promising in the least.

Trump's reelection campaign announced that it has raised nearly $30 million in its first quarter, and Republicans have remained widely unified in their satisfaction with Donald Trump.

Nonetheless, people commended Weld's decision.

What's more, Weld may not be the only one.

While Trump's approval rating remains high among Republicans, not everyone is sold.

2016 Republican presidential candidate John Kasich has remained critical of Donald Trump since his inauguration. An aide for Kasich wouldn't rule out the possibility of a primary challenge in 2020, telling the Associated Press:

“All of our options remain on the table, and we’re leaning toward a primary run.”

Prominent Conservative Bill Kristol, a longtime critic of the President, is using his organization—Defending Democracy Together—to build funds and speaking with others in the "Never Trump" camp to secure its own primary challenger.

Though Trump's antics over the course of his presidency have been chaotic to say the least, many think the Republican party is too far gone for a challenge against Trump to prove successful.

The 2020 election is nearly two years away, but things are already getting interesting.
