Donald Trump Just Explained What He Does During All That 'Executive Time' on His Schedule, and Yeah, People Aren't Buying It
WASHINGTON, DC - JANUARY 02: U.S. President Donald Trump talks to journalists during a meeting of his Cabinet in the Cabinet Room at the White House January 02, 2019 in Washington, DC. A partial federal government shutdown entered its 12th day as Trump and House Democrats are at an impasse over funding for border security, including the president’s demand for $5 billion for a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border. Last weekend, Axios had a blockbuster exposé of Donald Trump's leaked schedules from Nov. 7, 2018 to Feb. 1, 2019, which revealed that most of Donald Trump's time was spent in "Executive Time" which Axios described as:

Trump, an early riser, usually spends the first 5 hours of the day in Executive Time. Each day's schedule places Trump in "Location: Oval Office" from 8 to 11 a.m.

But Trump, who often wakes before 6 a.m., is never in the Oval during those hours, according to 6 sources with direct knowledge.

Instead, he spends his mornings in the residence, watching TV, reading the papers, and responding to what he sees and reads by phoning aides, members of Congress, friends, administration officials and informal advisors.

Now Axios has obtained more of Trump's schedules, specifically 4 days' worth from last week, during which Trump spent 50% of his time during "Executive Time."

And this time Trump isn't taking it lying down, tweeting that by "executive time" that means he is "generally working, not relaxing" and of course, that he "probably work[s] more hours than almost any past president.'

Because, with all the issues he inherited, he "had no choice but to work very long hours."

Mmhmm.

People were...skeptical.
