Keanu Reeves And Sandra Bullock Open Up About Possibility Of 'Speed 3'—And Fans Are Pumped

The actors stopped by the '50 MPH' podcast to talk about their beloved action-thriller—and when asked about the possibility of a third installment, Reeves admitted that they would 'knock it out of the park.'

Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock teased they might be down for teaming up again for a third sequel to the 1994 action thriller Speed.

In Speed, Reeves played LAPD SWAT bomb disposal officer Jack Traven, who finds himself aboard a bomb-rigged, passenger-filled bus that will arm when it reaches 50 m.p.h. and detonate if the speed drops below 50 m.p.h. Bullock portrayed a passenger who takes over the wheel after the bus driver is injured by a gunshot wound following a skirmish on board.

Reeves did not return for its 1997 sequel, Speed 2: Cruise Control. Instead, the less successful installment featured Jason Patric and Bullock reprising her character, Annie Porter, which Bullock later regretted due to it being critically panned.

Reeves and Bullock joined their Speed co-stars Jeff Daniels and Alan Ruck on the 50 MPH podcast to discuss their experiences working on the blockbuster film, a month ahead of its 30th anniversary.

When asked about the likelihood of a Speed 3, Reeves said:

“I mean, you know—we’d freakin’ knock it out of the park.”

Bullock hinted that they need to reunite for a future project, saying:

“There’s no formula. It just is."
“Before I die, before I leave this planet, I do think that Keanu and I need to do something in front of the camera."

She then joked:

"Are we, you know, in wheelchairs or with walkers? Maybe."
"Are we on little scooters at Disneyland?”

Reeves added:

“It does feel like there is a siren call to it, like there’s something that wasn’t done."

“I would love to work with you again before our eyes close," he told Bullock.

Fans are already onboard and awaiting their next thrilling chapter.

Title suggestions were tossed around.

What will the premise entail? Theories were shared.

The Matrix star reflected fondly on their time working together.

“We had an affection, and the characters themselves have an affection," he said.

"I think Jack and Annie’s is different than Sandra’s and Keanu’s, but I think we played off each other and I think it was just fun."
"I think, also, we kind of trusted each other, right?”

Their romantic chemistry was palpable and fans immediately connected to their characters. The stars themselves even admitted to having crushes on one another, which only elevated romantic tensions on set.

Bullock explained:

“Yeah. I mean, people have full-blown affairs in movies, and you don’t feel something between them. And then people can hate each other in movies and you go, ‘That was electric,’ you know?"
"We didn’t really look at each other in this movie except for maybe three or four times, because we were constantly battling the elements. And I think that’s what made it so electric, too, is that, watching it, I guess you want them to connect."
"That was a really clever setup, to sort of keep people apart. Foreplay, I guess."

She continued:

"But I felt very comfortable with Keanu. There was nothing that I couldn’t try or do or say that he wouldn’t have, I felt, fought for me to do or say or try, and that kind of trust is very rare with actors."
"Anytime I threw something his way, he swatted it right back and you just go, ‘OK, there’s my partner.'”

Since Speed, Reeves and Bullock appeared in another film that raised audience pulses romantically in the 2006 fantasy film The Lake House, about two people who correspond through letters left in a mailbox at the lake house they occupy in separate time periods.

Will a return to the lake house for a sequel be a possibility as well?

One can dream.

White House's 'Two Kings' Photo Of Trump And King Charles Gets Ripped For Hypocrisy Using Trump's Own Words

The White House was reminded of what President Donald Trump claimed just days ago after sharing an image on social media of Trump and King Charles III and declaring them "two kings."

Charles addressed a joint meeting of Congress on Tuesday, becoming only the second British monarch to do so after his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, who spoke in 1991. His speech came as Trump has repeatedly criticized British Prime Minister Keir Starmer over Britain’s refusal to back the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran.
